MAES & GRAVES WIN THE FOLSOM BASS LEAGUE....

Post by Scott Shambre »

44 teams checked in a SUSIES COUNTRY OAKS CAFE that included MIKE IACONNELLI, ZACK THOMPSON, and the BENNETT BROTHERS. After the National Anthem at first safe light, every team blasted off into the awesome sunrise.

When the dust settled, Johnny Maes & Russ Graves won with 5 fish totalling 12.70 lbs. that earned them $910. Including another $200 in RANGER CUP money, John and Russ took home a total of $1110 for the day.

Second place went to the formidable Folsom team of Dean Babcock & Rob Sprock with 11.76 lbs. Dean and Rob earned $650 for the day while dragging dropshots & jigs most of the day.

Third place was brought home by Corey Fenske and Marcel Colin with a 5 fish limit weighing 11.48 lbs. After blowing their motor moments after blastoff, these guys stayed on the trolling motor and finished the day by taking home $475.

Big fish of the day went to Paul Robinson that brought a 4.66 lb. Spotted Bass to the scales earning him $280 and a nice plaque.

Look for all of the results, updated points standings and a recap of all of todays events later on Monday or early Tuesday morning at www.folsombassleague.com. Thanks to all of the anglers that came out to support the FBL today and to our awesome collaboration of sponsors that have made what we do possible. A huge thanks to MIKE IACONNELLI for coming out with R.J. Bennett and experiencing a little Folsom bassin'. Good luck to "IKE" and the Bennett brothers on their respective upcoming seasons with BASS & the FLW Tour. I look forward to seeing all of you at the Sacramento ISE showon January 19,20 & 21 as I will be helping the C&C Marine guys at Cal Expo. The next FBL event is on Sunday, January 22, 2006 out of Granite Bay. Look for information about that event and the rest of our schedule at C&C Marine in Citrus heights, Fisherman's Warehouse in Rocklin or by going to www.folsombassleague.com. Thanks again to all of you and I'll see ya out there.

With the Bennett brothers and he made a decision to fish the best circuit on the best Spotted Bass lake in the country. I didn't know about IKE until Kent Brown dropped it on me during my phone interview on his show last Saturday morning.

I would also like to add that Ike was great yesterday. He was very friendly with anyone that approached him and asked for autographs. As far as I know he posed for ALL photo requests.

When I heard that he was coming to our event, I didn't know what to expect...but he was down-to-earth and accessible.

Look for photos of him (as well as all the tournament action) on the website tonight!

Ike was a gentleman and took the time to do an interview with me for this weeks Ultimate Bass show and said he would check in during the year as well. I have met Mike a few times and he has always been very cool and professional. Listen Saturday for the Ike interview.
