Major League Fishing Championship final 4
Major League Fishing Championship final 4
I am not going to say the winner, but this really is a fun format to watch. The one thing that suprised me was that the guys who were trailing in pounds and knew it, did not swing more for the fence at the end to try and catch up at Lake Amistad. Cool to see the emotions of the days events play out in the minds of the worlds best tournament anglers. Rick G.

Re: Major League Fishing Championship final 4
How did the a-rig work out ???
Re: Major League Fishing Championship final 4
The A-Rig got one of the finalist to the Championship, but on the final day it got smoked by one of the old tried and true methods. In fact all 4 of the finalist were doing the same thing the last day with even all the same bait. Its amazing how they all can end up doing what works without supposedly knowing what the others are doing. Major congrats to the champ!

Such a great format! Definitely the best fishing show I've seen in a long time. I really like how there is no pre fishing. KVD is a machine and this format let's you see first hand how he figures em out. The A-rig def worked its magic throughout the event but it certainly wasn't the sure thing. I hope I don't have to wait another year to see another MLF tournament. I would like to see it with divisions much like the AL and NL in baseball. It's hard for me to watch the FLW and Bassmasters now

Best way to view it.. via Macbook Pro to HDMI to Monitor

Loved it! Ole' KJ wasn't lippin much when the score was 16-0 eh?? haha
Re: Major League Fishing Championship final 4
Guys caught fish on it, but if it was as easy some people make it out to be, it would have done a lot better. It definitely wasn't an A-rig show. Single baits put a whooping on the rig.mike at robo wrote:How did the a-rig work out ???

The a-rig era is done , now it's time to ban the jerk bait .......

Some have three hooks! How unsportsman like!mike at robo wrote:The a-rig era is done , now it's time to ban the jerk bait .......
Plus they were foul hooking em left and right on the jerkbaits. I don't remember any foul hooked on the A-rig.

Great show, great format, and fun to watch. Worth every penny. I will subscribe again. I really like the format. No practice, no GPS coordinates, no getting information, 15 minutes to scout the lake then fish your butt off! I like that they weigh the fish, then release it right away. It's so much better for the fish's survival. And catch as many as you want because as long as the fish is legal size, it counts towards your total weight. And I love how they divided up the lake into zones and didn't fish the same zone twice. Live update on the weights, which has to generate alot of stress! The pros handle it well though. Great format. I know who won the first Major League Fishing Tournament, but I won't spoil it by posting it here. He beat the best and remained humble. Truly a class act.

i LOVE this format and as well hope it happens again soon.............. Also loved how the guys that werent catching them were baggin on BE for catching 1 1/2 pounders when all they caught was the same and had no problem weighing them lol.....Loved how KVD makes excuses cause he got beat straight up!! McClelland is just plain annoying!! I wish Ike was in the finals but maybe next time!.....Wonder if an org will do this format here on the west??!!
Re: Major League Fishing Championship final 4
My only complaint (a very small one) about the show is I wish they would have fished a different lake. Amastad is well known, most of them if not all of them have fished it before. I think it would be nice if they went to some little known lake that most if not all had never fished before.
Re: Major League Fishing Championship final 4
Understand your point, TinCan, but for a kick-off event, shown to an audience who may not be dyed in wool bass guys, having quality fish is almost a necessity. They go to the Ohio River and the pros end up holding sardines, instead. I'm sure MLF will be moving things around...
Re: Major League Fishing Championship final 4
It is in my humble opinion the best tournament scheme period. I think finally someone figured out the way to have a televised fishing tournament that can appeal to a broad audience. It's great to see the touring pros sweat and grind and do their thing. For my money I rather watch this than all the FLW/BASS tournaments combined, including the Classic. And I wouldn't mind paying the big entry fees the other tours demand to fish this format. Seems a much more level playing field. And I agree it is so much easier on the fish.
Hooray for whoever came up with this and had the money to make it happen.

For sure, Nobody wants to see 1lbers caught all day. I would just like to see how they approach water they have never been on.GKramer wrote:Understand your point, TinCan, but for a kick-off event, shown to an audience who may not be dyed in wool bass guys, having quality fish is almost a necessity. on a side note, even my girlfriend enjoyed the show. So they are doing something right. It's a great format.
