7 mile slough

I was wondering if anybody knows if this part of 7 mile is legal to fish by canoe/kayak/tube/bank?

Legal? Most likely not. According to some experts, the banks are most likely "re-claimed" as "public entity" (i.e: some government owned property) that may not be "trespassed" by the PUBLIC! like that of along HW 160. I'll leave you at that

There is not a public access, launch ramp, parking area, toliet, etc. for the area marked.

For the most part the levee is situated on private property, subject to easement owned by local Reclamation Districts.

And just to explain to Jloo283 here, the levees have not been "re-claimed" as "public entity" that is a misconception. Reclamation in this sense, means to drain the swampland, and fortify or build levees, so that the land could be used. (Primarily for agriculture.) Check the Federal Swampland act of 1850.

The local districts are not new by any means, and have been maintaining and operating the works for over 100 years, depending on which island it is and when it was reclaimed from swampland.

Iv never been in that area of the delta before but i have actually been curious about that same stretch, can I run up 3mile slough from the main channel...is it accessible? is that area safe to run in 18' ranger??....I know in some areas it can get a lil tricky.

No, the section circled in red has two levees built across the slough one down near the State Park near Three mile, and another dam built just past Owl Harbor Coming in the San J. way.

These fixtures are permanent, not like some temporary rock dams you might run into.

And P.S. Anglers have been cited for bringing Bass boats into the State Park swim area. Which is coming from Three mile. It is a no motor zone, I asked one time about electric TMs and the Ranger said he would cite me for that as well. In his view it was a motor.
