Over the past several years, federal and state authorities have uncovered widespread fraud in Minnesota’s public assistance programs — spanning childcare reimbursement, food programs, autism services, Medicaid-funded services, and more. Federal prosecutors have charged many people in schemes that involve fraudulent billing of state and federal funds. 

One of the most-publicized cases is the Feeding Our Future scandal:
A nonprofit intended to provide meals to children was instead found to have fraudulently claimed hundreds of millions in federal funding. 
Dozens of defendants were indicted, and many pled guilty or were convicted.
