Myers Wins WWBT Season Opener on Shasta
“I fished baseball sized white rock on flats that were anywhere from 10 to 40 feet deep with the Lunker Daddy Fishing Lures Tube in Green Pumpkin and the TM Custom Lures 1/2 oz. Finesse Jig in Goby color. On day 1 the wind was blowing 10 to 20mph straight into the bank that kept the fish more active longer into the morning. I had my limit by 10 AM. I fished main lake and secondary points with flats. On day 2, it was flat calm, and it took me until after 11 AM to get my fifth fish that was my biggest fish of the weekend (17.5”). I found a couple of spinnerbait fish early in the same areas I fished on day 1 and then I finished off my limit on the tube. I found a magical ditch that was adjacent to 2 rock piles, 1 rock pile was in 20 feet and the other was in 40 feet. The fish used the ditch to move from deeper water and then would move up on the rock piles to feed.”
