Navionics help!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by Scott D. »

Just got my Hotmaps Premium 2007 Navionics, took the old one out, put it in, and NOTHING!!!!!! It won't even recognize it. My only options are "Lowrance", and "Miami Demo". So it is not even reading it. I checked to make sure it was in all the way, yep, took it out and put the old one in, reads that one just fine. Of course it's not business hours for their 1-800 number, and I leave tomorrow after work for Mead!!!! I have gone through the steps in the graph manual. Do I have a bad card with nothing on it? Any advice?

Are you sure that it is compatible with your unit?

I had the same problem with my Premium hotmaps and it was because I was missing the latest download on my unit from Lowrance. Go the their web-site and look for latest versions of downloads and make sure you have the most current.

I'm sure I don't without even looking. Are they easy to load?

you need a blank SD card and the Lowrance card reader... OR a compatible device to connect your blank SD card to your computer. GO to Lowrance website, go to support , and type in your model #. Follow the instructions on the fireware upgrade for the download, stick the SD card in your Lowrance unit, power it up, and it will automatically upload it.

You should have no problems, if you do, find a 9 year old kid and them show you how. (I hate kids now!)

First off - DON'T TRY TO READ IT ON YOUR PC to see if there's anything there or you will fry the data!

As mentioned, if you have any other SD memory card - from a digital camera or even one you may have used with your lowrance - and a card reader for your PC, you can easily download the update for your unit off the Lowrance page. First you need to erase any existing data on the SD card, go to the Lowrance site and download the update. Then insert it into your GPS and power it up. The update loads itself in automatically. Power off, insert your Hotmaps, go through the menu and it should be there!

you can download it onto your LOWRANCE MMC card if you have enough room even with the lake info on it. It will automaticly load into your unit and then erase from the card. DO NOT try to do this onto your Navtronics card tho.
