My new boat

Post by Turkeyman »

Finally talked my wife into a new/used boat. It may not get a lot of fish put into it, but it will a fair share of ducks and geese.

I need to thank Big George Hawley for making me a deal on this boat I couldn't refuse.

Fun is fun, no matter what you are chasing on the water. Enjoy that boat and just go for whatever spins your wheel. Bill K :D

DDawg if you can believe it has both units. It was ordered with the jet but the previous owner didn't like it for hunting ducks on Clear Lake and the delta so he bought a prop unit also. I got both of them in the deal. Currently I have the prop on it as the water is high enough not to be a problem right now. With the prop unit it is actually a 60 hp power head and the boat SCOOTS. George told me not to run it wide open because it can get a little squirrely, so first time out I ran it wide open for about 200 yds and trimmed it out, didn't get squirrely but I guess it was running 40-45 mph. I will have to GPS it to know for sure.

Sweet Ride Rusty and Congrats !! Now give them all the hell you can for the homestretch like the SF Giants did .... and enjoy every moment with it !!

I hope you have already been able to break it in with your Pop's. I really miss my Durracraft for the Delta. I am so limited to only Fish, Beavers and some pass shooting for the fowl sort of now.

Congrats again BrothA !!
You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

Dan my dad, son and I took it out for the first hunt on Sunday, we only got 3 but 1 was a mallard wood duck hybred. Really cool looking drake. I have the next 5 days off so that we can hunt everyday. Looking forward to it as there seems to have been a big push of teal and mallards this last week. I will let you know.

Nuts ! :x

Can you call in sick by chance ? ..... "we" have a floating blind up past the Mothball Fleet that your boat will fit under/into perfectly to get "Stinky" .... and some poptarts to go with the crew if they happen to come in.

I am off this Fri thru next Fri -- Might possibly fish Berry for my first time on NYD for the first time ever outside of the Delta. Both Son's are apparently going to stay over at some of their friends house for a BDay party the evening before.

G-man is on the hook to fish this TS with me "possibly" @ Berry ..... But I can always drop him off like a rotten Avacado and stay home with the wife (who is pissed that I did not include her in my plans for NYD now  ) - or just go kill some ducks for 1/4 or less the cost in Petrol and be home by 1100.

..So many idea's and plans ... So little time for NYE and NYD ... Thank GAWD BrothA Tunaman and his WAY better half are still on the other side of the world !!!
