New California Bass Championship Website Now Live

Post by TomL »

There is one last thing we could not lock down - but, everything else is live.

The one thing we haven't locked down is another $15 value to your membership making it the best $25 membership you'll ever come across.

* Caution it's loud!!!

Check out all the dates and lakes and give us your feedback!

Yes there is an event the same day as the HBC. Please believe, that it was not planned and we did everything we could to keep that date open but, if we did the championship would have to be pushed to September - and that is TOC time of year.

So we did the best thing we could and put it in the North - instead of the South and with our observation that many of the Delta rats boats aren't DV certified - so we felt that was the best, least conflicting thing we could do! Sorry but, it is impossible to miss everything.

Some other things you might notice are: When Won Bass has an event in the North - we have an event in the South and vice-versa as to conflict as little as possible. We completely stayed away from AC Pro AM, ISE, Fred Hall and FLW events as well.

I am sure the schedule is not perfect - but, we did everything in our power to make it as best we could. Hopefully, you will all find a date to give it a shot at qualifying to be California's first State Champion!

On the first page, Clearlake is listed as the first event in region 4 and on the schedule page Oroville is listed as the first event in region 4... Which is correct?

True - and trust me none of us wanted to have a membership fee.

However, after working with Insurance, Lake Fees, State Fees, Forest deparment fees we realized the original $18 per boat was not even close to the amount we needed to do this and BREAK EVEN.

So we did the best thing we could think of - Add a 1 time membership fee and offer you (Hat, Shirt and more - as we will announce later) considerably more in value than $25. Actually, the value of the membership stuff you get will be more like $45 once its all said and done - and you will use ALL of it I am sure.

We really wish we could have announced the whole package for the membership fee - but, we are unable to at this time - but, I promise you will get more than your $25 worth!

Note: In the case of the donated entry fees where WE are picking the anglers based on submissions from anglers (more on this coming soon) we are going to cover their membership fees.

True - it could be as much as $26,900 but, I can assure you that most of that (especially after buying shirts and hats), advertising, flyers, banners, etc.. etc.. It adds up quick. Sure if we sell out everything - we may profit a few thousand bucks over the year but, there aren't any guarantees to that.

How does the registration work exactly? I see you can register for all four events in your region on 12/22. Then at a later date the last 25 spots are available for events 2-4. I'm assuming that if you register for all four and qualify at the first one there will be a refund for the 3 you can't fish. Also, wouldn't that make more than 25 spots available at the later registration?

Bryan - yes you would be refunded in full for the events you do not need to fish.

Also, those spots would also become available on the day after the previous event. So there could be as many as 26, 27, 28 maybe 30 spots available the day after the previous event.

If we looked at all those events too - I guess we would have to put these events on Xmas, New Years and Mother's day. Sorry Robert - there is only so many conflicts we can dodge!!

Fontana is not what it once was, I seen more greengooooos in Mexico than the last time I was in Fontucky. I'd be happier if a Menifee guy that lived on gooseneck trl won it! :) :) Wish you guys the best with this, see you down the line!!!!!

Thanks Tom and Mike – it is always hard on the initial opening of anything and you guys are keeping your cool – outstanding!

I will be missing the Delta event – going down south to fish the HBC but I will try to make the top 10 in one of these Don Pedro, Clear Lake, Oroville, or Berryessa.

REALLY!?! You give us the series that makes sense and works for most people and, now they are goint to bitch about where the entry fee goes. REALLY? $25.00 Ithink we should pay a service fee so that Tom does not feel like he is doing this for free!! Im sure that he does not like being away from his new baby!
Robert F. you only need to fish one tournament to qualify, that should be no problem for you!

 You have not fished against San Diego fishermen. I was hoping the San Diego lakes would be at the end so most of my local competition took those DV/Perris guys spots.
The problem is that IF I was able to qualify I will not be able to fish the regional. :(

I like the idea of the free hat and shirt (and other stuff). It is good advertising for them and I know Tom will design a sweat logo that we will want to wear. As in any first year of business there are a lot of questions on cost. I would rather see them make sure they collect enough money this year and make sure that this venture continues on for many years. Good luck guys.

One of the events (Feb.- Cachuma) is on top of another event that I plan to fish, can I weigh my fish for both derbys?

Site looks GREAT Tom. Even if I can't make it down there to fish one of the events I think I will become a member just to get the hat and shirt. $25.00 doesn't go to far anymore so I think this is a good deal.GB...Jim

It's actually possible to weigh your fish at both derbies - but, the rules may be different. Let me know what event you are fishing and we can go from there.

Note: We've swapped the Delta and New Melones dates because many of the anglers have requested that - so that the Delta priority entry guys can fish the DVL HBC.

Tom - Fed Nation is at Cachuma Feb 5-6. Boater/nonBoater draw - non-shared weight.

Not sure if the CBC director will let it fly since I'll be fishing with someone in the boat, then again there are always other derbies to qualify thru.

Tom

what is the chance of adding some sort of option money, maybe a 10.20. 50.00 that way there could be a reason to bring out more anglers for the last tournaments. AS I understand it, if you qualify in the first tournament you can't fish any of the others.. if there was cash available you might make extra money for the circuit even though no slots would be lost..just a thought..

I'm fairly certain Tom being who is he is, OCD about perfection, is gonna run EVERY event this year.

At least that's the last he told me.

Not that there aren't worthy directors, but he wants to get a feel for the events and some of the guys throughout so he can put the best person for each region and not get someone last minute who may not fit with the anglers.
