New supersmooth Power Pro

Post by fishbonz412 »

Power Pro has come out with that new 8 strand, super smooth braid. Anyone using it, and have any opinions on it yet? I like the original, though it is noisy on the guides, and seems prone to digging into itself, then kinking on a cast. Oddly, I have some Spiderwire Camo from a used reel I bought and that is quiet and very smooth without the kinking.

The Super Slick is much smoother and makes less noise going through the guides. My opinion is biased of course because I work for Shimano. My personal opinion is that I really like this line.

I just got a chance to use it. Both fishing jigs and cranks. It is quiet on the guides but fades very fast. Also it gets kinks in it. I will be sticking with the original, just needs to be loaded onto the reel very tight or it does dig!

How exactly did the line kink? Any braided line can dig if not spooled tightly on the reel.
