Non Boater Tackle Storage

Post by callwakeup »

As a non-boater, I am always trying to maximze tackle storage space while keeping as small of a foot print as possible.. What do you all use, what do you all suggest? Thanks in advance.

I curently use a Flambeau soft side box... I think its called the A7.. its the model that was discontinued recently. Good unit - but I'm always looking to upgrade.

Find an okechobee fats bag, they were at walmart but I got mine off ebay. They hold 8 3700 boxes and come with them, they can be had or around $45 or so and they work great. I have 3 of them and theyr good bags for the money. I've only had them for 6 mo's but the look to be holding up well. They have all the storage a co-angler could want. My second choice would be one of the bass pro shops bags that hold 5(I think?) 3700 boxes. I just dont see spending a c-note on a tackle bag, but thats just me.

Without question, check with Steve at Berserk Baits. The guy makes an awesome bag, and totally stands by every product he sells. As a "Co", I went through numerous bags, approximately 8 - 10, trying to downsize and found my Berserk Baits bag to be the best investment in fishing equipment I have made.....BAR NONE.

I also recommend the berserk bags. I have ripped almost every other bag I've used except for this one. I always have one filled up with all the basic baits in case i jump in someone else's boat for the day, and I love it. It's also hard to find a guarantee like the one Steve gives.

I've been fishing as a co for the last 3 years to the western Stren series and have to fly from South Dakota and rent a car and stay in motels for the tournaments. My choice has been the tackle bags and rod bags from Parker enterprises. Both bags have logged thousands of miles and still going strong. The rod bag holds 6 bait casting and 2 spinning ready to go and the tackle bag holds 6 3600 boxes a dozen or so plastics, my lunch, life vest rain suit and of course my thermos for coffee. The thing I value most is these are ony two things that I have to carry to put into the boat and most of the boaters have a back compartment that the bag will fit into. I hate it when I have to climb over my tackle bag to GET THE NET
