Post by lastchancejosh »

Hey guys,
Sorry I have to keep logging in under Josh's name, but I can't get my own loggin. Anyways we have sold. As of Sept. 1, Dan & Megan own Last Chance Bait & Tackle. We are going to have a big bash on Fri & Sat. Sept 1 & 2. We are going to be giving away a lot of stuff plus on Sat we will have a big BBQ and a lot of fun. Sat will be Karl & I last day in the shop so we would love to say Goodbye to all of our good friends and customers. We have been in business for almost 11 years and it is going to be hard to walk away but we know we are leaving it in very good and capable hands. Everything is going to stay the same including the employees(I don't know if that's a good or bad thing! Ha!Ha!) Mike and Lynne of National Bass West will be giving away team memberships and tournament entries for DVL plus any of you saltwater fisherman will appreciate the custom Calstar rod we are giving away plus lots more. Also we are introducing a new color of Roboworm, the Diamond Valley Destroyer (DVD) which will be wild and exclusive to Last Chance. Aim Marine will have the new IClass boat on display plus Triton and G3 boats. I hope of you will show up for our last day, all of you have made Last Chance what it is today and we certainly appriciate all you have done for us. If you have not heard we are moving to Missouri( what are we, crazy?Do you know how many bugs are out there, I hate bugs) and have some family matters to tend to(on my side) and should be out of the state of CA by Sept. 15.
I woud like to say how much I will miss each and everyone of you. I will miss tournment morning and checking you guys in. I can't tell you how much fun I have had with all of you (trying to tell Brian and Kevin apart, Ha ! Ha!, I still haven't figured that out, can't one of you guys stop shaving your head or grow some facial hair)
Anyways, please stop by so we can see you!!!
Also Guy, Ole came by today and we have some great things in store for you. Make sure you bring your running shoes, Ha!Ha!\

Thanks,
Sonya

Trust me Sonja, the hair thing, or lack thereof is not by choice. Besides, Kurt Hodges made that look sexy!

I'll do my best to get out that way Sonya! It might not be for long but I'll try to get out that way. Ole is FAT and SLOW, plus I'll just bring him a doughnut to keep him from chasing me.

Hey Guys,
I just wanted to say Thank you for all of your support. Karl and I appreciate everything. I am feeling sentimental tonight and I can't tell you how much I will miss each and every one of you. Karl and I started out in 1996 with no money and no clue but we had a dream. We had such a passion for fishing and it didn't matter what we had or didn't have but with the support of you guys we made it work. Each and everyone of you guys brought something different whether it be humor or perservence we appreciated all of you. If any of you ever get out Missouri way we would love to have you at the house. I promise there will be plenty of food and beer on hand(not that any of you drink beer!!) Plus there is plenty of deer and turkey on the property. We got really lucky with the property. We have 65 acres with 5 fishing ponds and the house and shop for a whopping$210,000. The shop is actually bigger than the house ( Karl say's that is the way it should be, I disagree) and it came with 3 cows( what am I suppose to do with cows) but Karl says I am not allowed to make friends with them because eventually they will become dinner. I wanted to name them Jerkbait, Dropshot and Texas Rig but he says it should be Ribeye, New York and Hamburger.
I hope you guys will welcome the new owners the same way you welcomed us. Thank you guys for everything and I will truely miss each and everyone of you.
We had a dream and we made it work and I hope that you guys will do the same, whether it be going pro or whatever, whether anybody else believes in you or not as long as you believe in yourselves that is all that matters( I hope I am not getting to mushy on you guys, I can't help myself, I am a woman, Can't live with them, can't live without them!!!)
Anyways, please stop by so we can say goodbye.

By the way, Guy, Ole says he has a gun and your toast!!!! Actually that was just me improvising but I am sure that's what Ole would say!! Darn Danish Men. Karl is Danish too, I should have known that you and Ole are Danish!!Ha !Ha!

Sonya,

Mike and I thank you for all of your help at the NBW DVL tournaments. Waking up before the crack of dawn to help sign-up the anglers for the tournaments no matter the whether, baking the delicious cookies that you made for the anglers for the bbq. (I am so glad that you got that new mixer for Christmas, although I did have to workout harder at the gym those days following our tournaments) Waking up in the wee hours of the night to help with the charity night tournament weighins, helping us run the KFROG tournament, standing in the HOT sun passing out bags so that the anglers were ready at the scales to weigh their fish, and all for the love of the anglers and the sports. (we salute you!!!)

I am so happy for you and Carl getting to explore new opportunities. I know that the Lord has His hand in it. Not only have you sold to a couple who has the same passion for the business like you and Carl, but you have found an awesome home where you can continue fishing, spending time with family and the price is well..... unheard of in California.

Thank you for the invitation to come and visit. Mike and I will be taking a road trip to visit in the years to come.

Bless you both always,

Lynne

Hey Rick,
Thanks for all your support of National Bass and being so kind and supportive. I have to tell you, when I saw Kyle pull out that big fish at the Fish Under the Stars tourament with National Bass, I was so happy for him. I don't think I have ever seen him smile so big. I know you didn't get to make it to that one, but I am sure you were very proud.
Karl and I are really unsure of what it is we are going to do on Monday morning since we have no jobs. I don't have to open a store. Do we sleep in or do we pretend we have somewhere to go? I am not sure. This is all we have known for almost 11 years. I hope you guys will come by just to say Goodbye. There is something about each and every one of you that makes you unique. I will miss Henry Moody giving me his jacket because it's cold outside, I will miss seeing Pat Keniry hang out the drivers window while Rocky weighs in the fish, I will miss George and Margret Fedor and Ken and Roxanne. I will miss asking you guys what you caught them on and you guys just giving me a look but never saying. I will miss how many times I have heard " I broke off a 6lb'er at the boat" It's never a 2lb'er or 15lb'er but always a 6lb'er. I think that Southern California fisherman are the best, but I could be a little biased. I think that you guys overcome so much to be the best, you have to battle with few lake and huge fishing pressure. I think that Diamond Valley has the potenial to be one of the great fishing lakes in Ca.
I hope that you guys will welcome Dan & Megan as the new owners of Last Chance. Karl & I have put our blood, sweat , tears and all of our money into this store and we are very confidant that Dan & Megan have the ability to see the dream. We hope that you guys will see the dream in their eyes as you have seen it in ours. Fishing is our life as well as it is theirs.
Rick, you have a fantasic store, not only for tackle but for boats and that is not easy to do. Thank you for always being friendly and supportive. We're all trying to make a living in this big world that we live in and if we can help one another, better yet.
Again, please come see Karl & I and welcome the new owners, Dan & Megan.

Thank you so much for everything,
Sonya of Last Chance Bait & Tackle (till Sat Sept. 1)
