Phenix Recon Elite PHX-C796H for Glide Baits up to 2 1/2 oz - Reel/Line Suggestions?

I've been planning on using a Phenix Recon Elite PHX-C796H for Glide Baits up to 2 1/2 oz. It's 7'9", 14-35lb, Fast.
Any Reel/Line Suggestions? I'm a Shimano fan and was leaning towards either a Curado 200K or a Shimano Tranx 300 (since the Curado 300 is impossible to find new) Also a fluoro fan, but open to braid.
Any input would be appreciated. Thank you

You dont really need any special equipment for swims that small. That rod is very limber and is really a MH action. Youll be fine with braid or floro. I just use 65 lb with a 6-7' floro leader. Ive never had a cast off. I just prefer the ability to drive the hooks in with the braid. Look at the Daiwa TWS systems. They cast very well. I also use a 7.3 because I burn small glides sometimes. The Tranx 200 might be worth looking into if youre stuck on Shimano. Just dropped at ICAST

I have a 201k, TranX 301A and set my Curado 301E in the closet while I use the TranX 301A.
So far I’m loving the TranX, I’m afraid of hooking into a larger fish 30 plus on a 200 sized reel. My buddy did it with a Curado 200G6 it smoked the drag, broke the Anti Reverse Back up somehow and the gears sound shot. That fish put a Whoopin on the 200.
I have using the 201k this year on a 20lb salmon and it held fine. I didn’t thumb it but was on a boat. The G6 was being fished from bank... get a 300 sized reel so when you do hook a trophy ya don’t loose it.
I will be adding the TranX 401 soon.

for small glides I use a Diawa Coastal 200HS. 7.3 ratio and oversized handle.
