Mike, I'm trying not to blow smoke. I don't want you to get fired up. I know u can catch em. I just hope that your mind is on the NG on sat and not on the A/C :D . If you bring it at the NG like you did stren last year, u will be all good. I just hope u don't bring it this weekend. U or the rosetti's or the Sakatas. I always have love for the locals. I would way rather see a local guy win anytime in the big delta events. By the way, r u fishing the A/C delta Pro Am?

Not sure. I kinda put all of my eggs ($) in the NG basket, so if I make money in it, I will fish Won Bass pro-am first, then A/C

they be awesome in the grass, the eye you tie your line to can slide up and down abouta 1/4 inch allowing it to be pulled through the grass with ease!!

I was tossing them in thick grass all weekend long... Then red ones there were mighty good bass catchers for me..

Sorry Mike, but I have a general rule that I don't fish other people's water.

I know the Delta just as well as anyone else and I always live and die on my own merits.

If a co is on the type of fish that they feel that the pro should fish their water, than it might be time to step over to the dark side.

Here is my thought process. I have had co anglers take me to another pros water and it wasn't a good situation. Secondly, I do not like the idea of showing up somewhere on day 2 or 3 that I haven't been prior.

Let's see, you are a pro and you are fishing your best water and all of a sudden another pro that you haven't seen the first or second day appears on your best water. I don't think so.

In either case I don't like the idea of risking the chance that I am fishing another pros water. If you can't understand that, then wait till it happens to you because it really sucks-I know.

It happens every tournament and I just have a rule that I treat people (in this case other pros) like I want to be treated. I don't like it when guys who haven't been where I am fishing all of a sudden show up. I don't think that it fair, especially if I had been catching my fish from the location.

What if your location just so happens to be where the leaders are fishing and you unknowingly take me there? What are the chances that there wont be another tournament boat in the area?

I just don't do it. Period. Well, unless the area was in say franks or something.

Here is another example. It’s day three of the NG and we are fishing in Ladds and my fish aren’t going and your water is in Big break. We run all the way to the break and there is Reese, Dobyns and Sapp sitting on your best bank. Well, I don’t want to be anywhere near those guys or any other competitor on a bank that I haven’t been fishing.

I know how it feels to see a guy show up somewhere they haven’t been fishing and it SUCKS.

Rick-S WELL SAID and that is the sprit of the no talk rule. I prefished Mead and had good fish for two days, during the event I said nothing and blanked 3 days. Both of the guys I Prefished with cashed a check one almost made the top ten, now I lived in LV for years and had lake info from having lived there. But the Rule is the Rule as I see it...........Just my opinon

I also think the measure of the CO is his or her ability to adapte to the PRO's water. Is that not the real challange...

Hey Mike I think that we are looking at this point from two different views.

If not fishing another pros water will keep a co angler from winning then Yes I am keeping them from $20,000.

Sportmanship, in my eyes, is treating others like you want to be treated. I fished as a co-angler from 94-96 and I never, regardless of how the day was going or what place I was in, suggested to any of my pros where we should go even if I had water. I didn't feel that I had the right because I was the non-boater and they were the pro. I would, however, make suggestions if I were ASKED.

To me that would be the difference. I don't fish other people's water because I don't and haven't needed to. In either case, I could see a co-anger saying that they were backseated because the pro wouldn't let them co-angler fish their water.

Better go to the rules on that on:

Point #9 states....
Pros will fish from the front deck of the boat only. Co-anglers will fish from the back deck of the boat only. Pros will have complete control of boat operation and waters to be fished.

There is a reason that his point appears in the rules and it is becuase of this very conversation.

Oh man Mike I am a Am and have had water on plenty of ocassions on Oroville since im on the lake 200 times a year and have been asked by several good sticks on the lake if I had anything Ive taken them there and we've done well, on the other hand I have had water and the pro is stubborn and wont ask me any questions and So i give no answers we sat on one point for 4 hours 1 bite while my buddy who fishes the pro side was fishing some of my water and ended up with a 5th place finish so take it or leave it man I see your point but bringing his name up on the Forum low blow man good luck in NG I always look forward to hearing your posts

With all do respect, I think that you really need to move to the front if you feel the need to control where to fish. I would never suggest to the pro where to fish unless he asked. I believe that you really could mess your pro's day up if you were telling him/her where to fish even if you were right. And Ricky has done well in these circuits. Until you jump to the front, I don't think that you have the room to judge his performance. Believe me, it is a lot different managing your water in a 4 day Pro Am than a 1 day team tourney. If you think you could do better than your pros then put your hard-earned cash on the line. And so why again are you not fishing the tourney from the front? if you are so sure that you could do better than Ricky then borrow the money. Remember it is only a $3500 entry fee to get $10,000 for 50th. Surely, with all of the confidence you are exuding and while critisizing a good pro like Ricky Shabazz, it is time for you to pony up or be a little bit more humble, IMHO. Brian Stafford

Seems a lot of people around here need to put the mouse down, go grab a few rods, put them in the boat, hook it up to the truck and do what this website is all about, go fishing...............So many of you guys take this place way to personal............

Go fishing, the delta maybe off limits but there is enough water around other than the delta to fish, if that don't work, go golfing or something but stop the bitchen!
