I agree, If the swimbait bite turns on, watch out for Cameron. I have fished with him a few times on local San Diego lakes, and he is one of the best swimbait fishermen around. He has done quite well up there in Bassmaster Opens in the past, and I wouldnt put it past him to pull a big sack from there tomorrow....

I hate to say this, but I don't see the swimbait bite happening. It's supposed to be sunny, very windy (20 mph from the north) and cold (29 degrees for blast off and 44 degrees for weigh in). I think the drop shot will rule day three with the toughest bite yet. My prediction: Less limits and those that do get limits will be from finesse worms between 40 to 80 feet. I think this will be a very tight race.

Anyone know how they are going to break all the tie breaker weights within the pack?

Tie's go to the angler who weighed the biggest bag of fish over the 3 days.

Gene Gray has been on fish for more then a week, with a strong finish last weekend in the WON Pro/am. The weather patterns are continuing the same way....Also watch out for Shawn Milligan, he was my day one pro last weekend and has a strong pattern in this weather. Swimbait?.....naw

I'd think it'd be very tough ta make up 4 pounds over two days here, those guys from 7th down have their jobs cut out for em. Certainly Bill Townsend with his reputation and knowledge of the lake, and Dobyns, know what it takes to put the bigger fish in the boat and might have the best chance to catch the two leaders with the right bites. Tuck's been on a roll and is hangin' close. Davis and Gray are sittin' purty to run with this thing since it's remaining an accumaltive weight format.

I don't know Gray, but I'd sure like ta see Jim Davis walk away the winner here! Jim's the epitome of the guy who started at the bottom of the ranks in the Pro-Ams out here. He's matured into a hell of a fisherman and maybe his time has come!

All they need to do is make the top 10 to fish the last day. So a lot of guys still have a shot. You never know when that swimbait thing might go crazy. It just takes 2 big bites and a limit and you are back in the hunt.

Ray,
After what I saw last weekend and how that weather is staying consistant, I would say that anyone throwing a swimbait is gambling big time. As for the one or two bites, you are sooooo right. I missed a couple of those that could of helped a bunch....

Was was on the swim bait fish, but when that died he seems to have adjusted well. While someone might pick up a swim bait fish in the morning that bite is on the decline and the deeper fish will be the key. When I left on Monday the bite was at about 50 feet and that was during a windy warm morning. Big Jim is in a good position and is catching consistent sacks. The poker team seems to all be doing well, that means Reese must be wining the money at the poker table. :)

There are still a few people in the hunt and one 6# spot could change things a lot, but I expect to see Tuck and Big Jim in the top 5 on Saturday as they know both the swim bait bite and the deep worm bite.

I agree with the Big Jim and Tuck posts, they are two great guys and great fisherman. Another up and commer is Cody Meyer. He is an awsome Jig and Worm fisherman and will be a threat at any tournament he puts the practice in on...GO CODY !!!!!!!!

It does look damn cold.

The live results on FLW's website sure is cool. I can set here and know more about the weights than if I were at the event.

If i were a betting man i would put my money on BILL Mc Laughlin. the jig bite should be good with the cold front. Bill likes to fish jigs in deeper water and i think thats where the bigger spots will be.We have a pretty stiff north wind today so the heavy jigs should work well. GENE B

I just wanted to say how great it is to see the weigh in live. the flw people are doing a great job putting it on the internet. They dont waste anytime weighing the fish and the weighmaster is great at the mic. other org should pay attention to what there doing. GENE

I would like that, I fished with Bill McLaughlin at the WON Pro/Am the week before, REALLY nice guy, super humble and just a kick to fish with. I talked to him after the first day and he mentioned that he's not feeling well. Tuck would be another that I want to see up there.

I fished a WON Pro/Am with Matt Newman a few years back and he was really an awesome guy to fish with! He was very good at putting fish in the boat when a lot of other guys were still trying to locate good concentrations of fish. His "speed-shotting" technique is interesting as well...So he gets my vote!
