Seems unnecessary... the Owner Down shot hook has a simpler way of doing the same thing, but I am bias to Owner's hooks

I tried them & didn't like them. I don't have any problem getting my bait to stand out though. You just gotta run the tag line down throught the top of the hook eye & it will hang right. IMO, as always & YMMV.

I tried them too and didn't care much for them. When you hook a fish they get tangled up really bad. To me the best drop shot hook is a Gamakatsu. You can get the light wire with a rebarb or the standard drop shot hook.

Can't go wrong with a Gami.

I have tried them and found it takes me a little longer to tie than just throwing a palomar, and as noted in an earlier reply, the hood stands out straight just be running the lead end back through the hooks eyelet and pulling the know into the eye.

I used'em for a bit. They're not as great as the Owners or Gammie ds hooks IMO. I used the red for sight fishing, and some other ds. They gave the bait more of and up down movement. But I found that my hookup rates were better with the plain Owners and Gammies. it seemed to me that when the fish went to suck in the bait, the angle in the hook would bounce it out of their mouth and they would spit it more often. Better off w/ the Owners.

I used them untill I lost all of them when they got snagged on brush. These hooks are to hard to pull over branches, as a result they hang up easy. I use Gami's, thats all.

I did not like them at all, hung up easy, longer to tie, not as sharp as gammy or owners they just sucked for me. I get hung up alot(my primary hook is a owner mosquito) but rigged "weed less" these hooks hung up more than the owners(mind you this my own experiance SP?)No sir, I didnt like them
