Good ol American capitalism! I love it!
Let's see??????? There is a shortage of a commodity (Co-Anglers). For all the Ronald Reagan lovers, that's "supply". So, there must be a "demand", right? Along comes a good little capitalist who accept his patriotic duty under supply-side economics and...voila!...he fills the need...for a small fee of course. I LOVE IT!!!!

Speaking of FLW at Havasu when is this and how much would this set me back? If I can wrangle up the money I just might sign up for this! Never fished a really BIG tourney like this. The only one that could compare to it is the Jr. Bassmaster Classic back in 2004 and I didnt do to well in that. I would like to see how I would do in a bigger feild tournament.

So if you win any money, are you going to be kind enough to return that pro his money, even if it was all that you made? Maybe you should think about the long term effects that it can have on your reputation, not just the short term of going fishing for a week.
Re: 2 AAA'S LOOKING TO SIGN UP WITH PRO'S FOR THE FLW AT HAV
That seems like a fair and reasonable request. I would think that all AAA's would want to at least consider this option. So if you win any money, are you going to be kind enough to return that pro his money, even if it was all that you made?

I dont think "want to" should even enter the equastion, more like be expected toI would think that all AAA's would want to at least consider this option.

A contract is a contract...the terms are negotiable.
As long as both the pro and co-angler have a "meeting of the minds" and they put it in writing so they are BOTH protected, then anything goes. Personally, if I was offering my services as subsidized co-angler, I would negotiate to split my winnings 50/50 up to the total amount the pro subsidized me. Any amount over that is mine to keep. After all, the primary benefit to the pro is the opportunity to fish in the major event...he GOT his "gain" from the deal. Without the co-angler deal, he doesn't get to fish.

At what point is the Bass Tournament world going to catch on with the idea of a satellite tournament? Think about it...
You decide you want to fish as a coangler in the upcoming FLW Series event but can't afford the buy in. So between you an 6 other guys you all throw in $100 and the winner gets their entry fee paid for the tournament. In fact you could easily have a Pro/Am style satellite where the Pro's compete amongst each other and the Co's compete against each other for the big game. To cover the costs of the event each angler pays a small fee (say $20-$25) to the TD or organization to put on the vent to cover costs.
Now assume that the Bass Federation with their newly aligned partnership with FLW works their magic to come up with some sort of priority entry into the event before anglers are allowed to sign up. As a stipulation they require that you be a member of TBF to fish the satellite as well. We hear about this all the time in the Poker world and the media latches onto the 1 in a million shot like Chris Moneymaker who won an online tournament to qualify for the Main Event. Heck maybe we could just throw our own Poker satellites and have the prize be a paid entry fee in into one of the FLW events? We all know that fishermen are action players anyway.
sTony - has anyone mentioned this sort of idea from TBF as part of the FLW partnership? If not maybe this would be something that they could incorporate into the 2008 season?

No Takers?
No one took you guys up on your offer to have them pay your way into the tournament. Go figure. I wonder if the $3500 pro entry fee had anything to do with it.
Let's get ready to rumble.

Re: No Takers?
I don't think it's going to be necessary. According to Kim @ FLW they had close to 50 coanglers sign up in the last week for the event. They may actually end up with a situation where they have too many coanglers and need more Pro's.
