Worldmark Resort Clearlake Timeshare?
Worldmark Resort Clearlake Timeshare?
Has anyone stayed at the Worldmark Timeshare in Nice on Clearlake?
I looked on Google maps and if there is a launch ramp, it doesn't appear to have a dock next to it?
The launch looks to be one lane dirt?
It looks like there is a dock but not next to the launch.
Is it secure? both at the dock and parking lot?
A place to plug in batterys?
Parking for the boat and vehicle near the rooms?
How's the rooms?
I've usually stayed at the Kelseyville Motel and that's been good.
Thinking about utilizing this in the fall since I can trade my timeshare.
Thanks,
Morgan

We used to have a membership to Worldmark-dont get me wrong it was awesome but very expensive to have. We stayedat the Nice resort ALOT and it is very, very nice. The ramp is concrete but there is no dock at the ramp itself....they have slips to tie up to but they really arent secure so overnight is OUT of the question. There is room to park to your boat in the parking lot unless alot of others have brought their boats too. I would advise a cover cuz them big ol oaks will make a mess of an uncovered boat. The rooms are really nice and if you luck out you can get close to an outlet to charge up-last time I couldntget to one so I had to go into lakeport and buy a battery chrger at Kmart and pull my batteries and chrge them on the front porch. You will nt be disappointed staying here for sure. There is some excellent bank fishing right there at the ramp/dock area so give that a try to. I will warn you the ramp is not so great in low water conditions-it has a sharp drop and without 4 wheel drive you might be in trouble! There is a public ramp just north of the resort but I cant remember the street name.If your going west on 20 (north actually) out of town just before you go up the hill out of town turn left at that "Y" and it is right there. Any questions PM me-I have never had a bad experience at this resort though-you'll enjoy it! Tight Lines

There are public ramps at Nice & Lucerne. I've caught some nice fish around there from my Triton.
It's just a beating.....till you fight back.

The last time I was there, I was told that the docks behind the resort are for day use only. They recomended a marina about a half mile down the road. The marina rates were reasonable and they had power but I didn't feel secure, so I unloaded all of my rods and electronics every day. As it turned out, I had no issues.

The Worldmark docks are in fact day use only.
Since I usually launch by myself or with my son (who is too young to drive) I always go to Lucerne. Its not far.
There's room to park 4 to 6 boats while still hitched to your tow vehicle with outlets nearby where you can plug in your charger. There's another 1/2 dozen spots that have outlets where you would have to unhitch your boat (I've only had to do this once during a dozen nights staying there) but they are not labelled boat parking and area can be filled up with cars.
They've started issuing parking permits as too many people were bringing multiple vehicles (ie 3 cars for a 2 bedroom that sleeps 6, etc) so the parking looked a lot better last time I was there.
I've never had an issue with security but I also unload every night as my rod lockers don't lock.
The rooms are very nice and if you're lucky, you'll get a unit with a lakeview.
Worldmark has been great for our family (we have two kids) and take advantage of their "bonus time". Its debatable whether its a good deal if you can't or don't use bonus time several times a year.

Thanks all. Since I will be there the second week of Sept, the place shouldn't be as crowed.

Re: Worldmark Resort Clearlake Timeshare?
Morgan,
Worldmark/Trendwest is a very upstanding forward thinking resort.
I really enjoy staying there, most of the rooms have excellent views of the Lake. I don't mind the launch ramp, I either launch at Library Park in Lakeport or the Lucerne ramp.
The only bummer is that you have to pull your boat out each time, unless you are coming in for the afternoon.
I highly recommend the resort! We often stay at the Angels Camp Resort, which is 10 minutes from New Melonies.
Good Luck,
Dan

Dan is right-the angels camp resort is really nice too....overlooks the golf course-really nice. The newer Las Vegas one is really cool too-it is due east of Bass Pro Shops a mile or two. Also the one in Monterey and Bass lake are nice too! Make sure you do some bank fishing with the kids right there between the ramp and Trendwests pier!
