Did BassFan... become B.A.S.S.Fan recently?

Where is the National Guard coverage? I just can't seem to find it

Clayton great job at Havasu. It was great fishing with you on day three, you made the dissapointment of blanking all three days easier to handle. If you need anyone to prefish the Delta with call me. Jon Smith.

Bassfan had a blowout with FLW and no longer reports the stories. Thats why you also do not see FLW anglers in their Power Rankings. So yes, it is B.A.S.S. only. Rick G.

I seem to remember that sometime last year BassFan ran an article on how much FLW charges the media to allow them to cover FLW events. Perhaps this is the reason you no longer see up-to-date coverage of FLW events on BassFan...I don't believe B.A.S.S charges them anything to cover the B.A.S.S. events so that would cause the apparent slant of coverage.

But then what do I know as a "Has Been Pro"

I never cared much for Bassfan anyways. I got what I needed to get off the FLW web site

BigJeff,

It is nice from a pro's point of view to get additional coverage from another media organization (besides FLW) for your sponsors. I got some coverage last year during the Stren on the CA Delta and it opened several doors I had previously been unable to get open.

I would think bassfan would still cover the circuits with phone calls to leading anglers, but if this is the way it goes I will just stack it up with all the other changes we are seeing in this business.

Now I just need to go and get my $500,000 in sponsorships

Yes Hollywood,

The include FLW Tour anglers in their ranking system but they are currently considering dropping FLW Series BP (Eastern) anglers depending on how many "Tour" pros fish them...they said really didn't expect to include the FLW Series NG (Western) at all as they don't expect enough "Tour" pros will fish them. They need to see a majority of the anglers be "Tour" level anglers or they won't include the anglers in the Tru-Tungsten Rankings.

I think that just because they don't count the Series guys in their own ranking system they don't bother to cover the Series events is a poor decision by Bassfan. I know that they have battled FLW over the years on different things but to ignore the Havasu event left a big hole in their coverage of bass fishing.

I really found it hard to believe when Phil Strader runs the Bassfan.com wrapped boat.

The bassfan.com world rankings is a nice thing but has anyone of the guys in the top 10 ever gotten a check from it............then I imagine it really isn't that big a deal to them. I bet the majority of the bassfan.com readers can't even figure out the system they use.

C'mon bassfan quit being butthurt over FLW and cover the Stren and Series events. You have a chance to cover 3 of each the rest of the year so don't drop the ball.

I don't think you need to spend so much time covering BASS and the fact they don't have any events out here........we already know that! Let's cover the events we do have.

I promise I will continue to cover them for you guys.

to loose the great monopoly on reporting you have right now! LOL!

I think BassFan needs to make a decision....are they truly "BassFan.com"? Or are they only B.A.S.S.Fan.com?

As far as covering the FLW events, there is no law against them contacting anglers for comments and even putting boats on the water if they want. These events are always held on public lands and on public waterways. There is NO excuse for a tournament-reporting fishing website to fail in reporting on the single biggest money event in the history of western bass fishing.

Guess they can't spell...C R E D I B I L I T Y!

Have any of you tried to contact bassfan.com and let them know how you feel? I did. Maybe you should do the same rather than rant on here. If you already did, disregard.

Hey guys don't count them out just yet, I did an interview with John Johnson at 3:30 today. Maybe they have decided to cover us on the Flw side after all. I gave John my sponser's and a big shout out to Kieth Tripp, The National Guard and Flw Outdoors. He said he wasn't sure if he could use them but would try.

Also at 7:00 this evening did an XM Radio show with Bass Zone...Mike Goodwin

Did I miss something? The top 2 stories today on the Bassfan Army news is the top pattern for the Guntersville Stren Series event and the news on the National Guard event at Havasu :?:
I would rather jog home from my own Vasectomy than spend Saturday at the mall.
