It was probably one of the new anchor systems.... Dont know the exacts on it, but have seen it in mag once, and saw one on a boat here on CL just two days ago.... actually would be sweet for site fishing......I know it kills me when I'm headin to the office, and see someone going out... lol

Bahlzar,

I just got moved from Discovery Bay to Fairfield 2 weeks ago. It SUCKS! The drive sucks the $4.00 a DAY for bridge toll sucks, and yes, seeing all of the bass boats going fishing sucks too! But I had that going to Disco too.

Yep, I think thats what it was. Any way, I had to lock up my breaks on my lifted GMC this morning when I was coming up beside him and he decided to switch lanes with out looking! That was a close one.

Mike,

Shifter was right on in what the item was. I saw the boat launch yesterday. Two fisherman from Arkansas. I did a double take myself when I saw it, wondering what the heck it was.

Anchor system.......????? Would be great for the middle of Franks or Big Break with a 15-25 mile an hour wind.

It was probable Vince Hurtado.
He runs a basscat, has a campershell and yes, has a new POWER POLE anchoring system on the back of the boat.
I saw the system for the first time when we picked up the boat a few weeks ago, THEY ARE WAY KOOL. You are going to start to see more of them around. A must for shallow water fishing.

Tell him to look in his mirror before changing lanes! We were coming up to the toll booth and I was just about even with his motor and he decided he didnt want to be behind the big rig in fromt of him, so he jerk's into my lane. I ALMOST took out his motor and qurater panel of his boat.

These are hydraulic driven...they were developed by a flats guide out of Florida. Great tool for bedfishing!!!! The only problem I see with it is that it would get in the way of casting for your backseater.

It likely was Vince Hurtado if it was a BassCat. BASS rules I believe prevent a co-angler from holding your position in the water so he likely got this device to secure his boat for sight fishing. I saw it up at the USAC ProAm on Oroville. It looked like a cool unit.

The power pole is used for skinny water. Also good for anchoring shallow and pulling baits up the banks espically near deep channels and points.

Hey Mike,
I've got one...but it's not an anchor.
Mine is a water ballon launcher.
It will hold 20 eight oz. (American Flag) ballons filled with water at a time.
It is guaranteed to soak anybody as far away as the the tournmament limits state. In case of 100% bass where there is no limits...Fire away.
50 yards no problem.
In no time at all, people will come to show respect.

I saw him coming into little mandeville around 1pm and wondered what the heck it was. I like the idea of the waterballoon launcher though.

An embellishment of an old Florida flats guide trick. Why shouldn't it work sight fishing for bass....ot works on Bones, permit, tarpon, etc...?...
It's just a beating.....till you fight back.
