Direct TV or Dish network ???

Post by Lancer »

I live in the SF bay area and was wondering the best for fishing shows. Don't care about other sports just trying to get some fishing shows that i can set the tivo for and watch in my spare time since football is over .
Also what other shows are out there?? I have heard a few new ones bass edge , true bass.

Am i the only generation X who learns from TV shows ?? LOL thanks in advance.

nope, i learn from bass shows. i think i am still considered a generation X'er (25 yrs. old). i have direct and love it. you get the outdoor channel (606), versus (609), comcast (656), a ton of FSN channels and ESPN. that amounts to a lot of fishing shows. get the dvr box so you don't have to get up at 3:30am to watch roland martin use his boga grip!

Direct TV

with TIVO! I had Dish but prefer DirectTv by far. With TIVO I can even get "my shows" while I am out on the lake.

DirecTv with Tivo. Got Tivo units on all 4 TV's, so we can all record and watch our favorite shows!

Well since i didnt hear anything bad about dish can anyone give input on that ?? it's the cheaper package right now with a DVR but i don't want to commit yet. Someone said that you get more FLW coverage with direct tv and more of the fox sports channels is that true ?? thanks again fellas !!! - lancer

I have Dish and I get all of the channels that everyone with Direct has. Comcast Sports, Foxsports, Otdch, ESPN2, Versus, Water Channel. I have the Americas top 120 which carries those Channels. And the DVR is the same as Tivo. Tivo has exclusive contracts with the other providers so Dish can't call theirs TIvo. And y0ou get all the FLW coverage on FSN with Dish. Every Sunday morning at 8am. I've had both dish and Direct and have had no problems getting all the good fishing shows. I switched to Dish because they had cheaper programming but same channels in my area.

I have Dish Network and you can subscribe to The Outdoor Channel but they mainly show turkey, duck and deer hunting. ESPN 2 show's fishing stuff on saturdays only and sometime duringthe week real late. Other than that it sucks for fishin' in my opinion.

I switched from Dish to DTV just for the NFL Sunday ticket last year.....I probably could have went without it with the 3 games in 3 states I went to last year to see my team play though.

I have Dish after switching from Comcast and it's great! Price was the biggest factor for me, considering that Direct TV wanted to charge me extra for their sports package that Dish gives me for free! On top of already being almost $15 more a month! I get all the fishing shows and all the sports channels you could want, as well as the Kings games. We had the Comcast DVR before and it was way more complicated. The Dish ones set up easy and even my Wife has figured out how to use it!!! The Wife is happy cause she can record all of her shows and watch them when she wants. I record True Bass and Fun Fishing and watch them when I have time. There are other fishing shows too, but I have not had enough time to watch any of them. Dish is also nice because you don't have to sign a contract if you want to try it out. Comcast sucked and their customer service was horrible. I am very happy with Dish!!!
