I personally own one Curado 200 and I personally would not ever buy a new one if I had the chance again, I have 5 of the Quantum PT Energys 3 in which are the 7:1 burner models great reels never had any problems this is just me, Pm me if you have any more questions.

Brent - I am a Curado guy (old school green ones) but recently got a PT-70 for my frog rod. All I can say is WOW. It is a great reel at a decent price. I have never used the new Curado's so I cannot comment on those.

I have the 200dhsv, and really like it. Super smooth, good drag and a sweet brake system. All around solid reel!

Finally you boys are starting to see the light...

Quantum is gaining ground on the competition... The energy's are awesome and for a real treat try the Tour Edition!!!! $229 and much nicer than anything under $350 on the market!

Get the Energy and you won't be sorry!

You can also try the new saltwater Energy reels, which are the only reels in the world besides Quantum's new Aruba that have nitrogen alloy bearings. Talk about smooth

Good luck with whatever your choice may be.

beq98,

both reels are equally good you can not go wrong with one or the other.( I like the shape more of the Quantum)

I've never owned the Quantum, but have owned a couple of the Curado 200D's ... first, I'll say that I loved the Curado 200B's, but the new 200D's have bigger profile where it would feel so much different when you palm the reel ... I could not get used to it and sold all my 200D's ... now I'm using the 100B's and 100D's instead. For applications that would require more/heavier line, I use the new Scorpion Metanium's (they're the Japanese version of the Chronarch).

I would recommend that you borrow a 200D from someone you know and fish with it for a day before laying down the $$$ ...

As for the Quantum, does the heavyer weight bother make a difference to you guys? I have a Curado 100d and a diawa Viento and I love them both, but I need one more for crankin. I'm looking at buying another onne of either or a quantum energy.

Cleb, I may be interested in your curados for the right price. PM me if you still want to sell them.

We aren't talking about pounds difference... The difference is an ounce or two... Besides the Steez and the Chronarch MG they all basically feel about the same in weight. With the Daiwa Steez going for over $500 and the Chronarch being not really all that much lighter and priced over $249.

Try a Quantum Energy or Tour Edition - In the long run, you'll save some money and you will get a reel you'll love!
