An Open Letter to All Tournament Organizations….

Post by BassTraveler »

We have found out that one of the West’s Best Anglers will be inducted to the Pro Bass Fishing Hall of Fame. Thanks Kent Brown.

I would like to see us continue to Honor Dee Thomas.

I challenge EVERY Tournament Organization who has the eight-foot rod rule to amend and abolish it, beginning by next year’s tournament season.

It was implemented because Dee was so successful in taking a large rod and flipping fish into the boat.
Instead of people embracing this new technique, rules were put in place to hinder it.

It’s like telling Mike Long he can’t use a swimbait larger than 6 inches or Kevin VanDam and Aaron Martins they can’t use the BioSonix.

When you take away the imagination of the bassfisherman, you enslave him.

This rule has become obsolete and should be done away with.

In Honor of Dee Thomas…I Thank You for Your Consideration.

I think the 8' rod rule is archaic. If you want a 9' rod, fish it! You are right Sieg!

of my tournaments when I was in the Delta area. Let me be the first to have the "Dee Thomas" rule in effect for next season. The 8-ft rod restriction will be out of our rules next year. It is an archaic rule anyway.

Great, now there's going to be another 5-6 rods that I just "have to get" because my 7' MH rods are now referred to as finesse fishing.
