I have had 5 Fiberglass boats since 1977, all of them were good boats.
I now have a 1999 Nitro 912 for a little over 5 years .
It is an awesome boat.
Lots of deck room & more than enough storage.
I have had zero issues with the boat , merc 225 efi or the electronics
I have towed the rig all over N. Cal. & to Texas & back......
While in Texas the paint on the trailer fenders started coming off.
I think it was because the humidity got under the paint from the rock chip areas & loosened large areas of paint
Aslo while in Texas, a bunk came loose because a screw that was in the wood rusted & then the wood got soft.
It came with Marathon tires & their are no good, reguardless of what vehicle their on.
I am a genuine happy camper this boat.
if you have any questions please reply or P.M. me
Wise men STILL seek Him....

I run a 2006 Nitro 898 NX with a 225 opti on it. It is a lower profile boat than the 9 series and it is about 170 lbs lighter. So you get a lighter boat with the same size motor and the deck width is just about the same. Here are the best parts; the 898 NX is cheaper than the 9 series and the best of all, your going to be in a NITRO. If you have serious questions about Nitro boats the best guy to contact is Rob Wenning thru his web site www.robwenning.com or email rob@robwenning.com . He is the reason I bought my Nitro 898 NX. He has had the 9 series boats and he now runs a 898 NX. Let him answer your questions, it will be well worth it....

I have a 2007 Stratos 200XL with a Merc 225 ProXs and I think it is one of the best riding rough water boats that I have driven or ridden in. It's light, it's fast, fishes great and now it's being marketed and supported by the same folks who sell Ranger.
I'm not sure where your located but I'm near Folsom lake/Roseville area if your interested in a test drive.

Well i have an 07 nitro 901 and i love it. I owned/still own, need to sell a nitro 884 savage. Both great boats!!! My team partner owns a 911....i think its an 05. That boat is a cadillac. Its deck is bigger, 98'', and its a more stable platform than the Stratos 201. But the stratos is gonna have a couple MPH's on it. My partners hits 68/69 with a 225 verado. Dont need to much more speed than that if you ask me. So its really what you are looking for. If you wanted i could probably get you a test ride on his 911. Just depends where you aer located. We are basically located west delta area, Concord.

Let me know if you are interested

Tom,

For info on the Stratos, give Mike VanWagner a call at C&C Mairne in Citrus Heights, CA.

I've been on the Nitro staff for the last 3-4 years and would be happy to assist you with all your Nitro questions/on the water Demo.

Best wishes,

Everyone many thanks

Chad, and XXXBass I am looking at the 911 due to the 4 seats, I have owned a 20ss extreme and it was a fine boat. I have 3 kids and the 911 seems to be the only boat with 4 seats rather then 3. I am also wondering about the center consl. and if the boat can be ordered with a hot foot.

Tom,

I guess it depends on what you're looking for. I don't know too much about the 911, but my understanding is that the 911 is kind of a slug ... big and slow.

Whilst the Stratos 200/201 are not quite as big, but much nimbler in the water ... the properly equipped 200XL w/ a 225HO or ProXS should run in the low-mid 70's ... ride is quite nice as well.

A friend of mine has a 200ProXL w/ a 200ETec ... runs about 70-72 on the GPS and rides quite nicely. The 201ProXL will ride a bit better w/ the slightly bigger boat. With a 225 or a 250 on the back, it should run in the mid to upper 70's maybe?

Fishing wise, both of the Stratos are quite nice and stable platforms.

Well, like i said, the 911 with a 225 verado does 68 GPS with 2 people and fully loaded with tournament gear. And we are not small guys... But it is a bigger and heavier boat than the stratos. Its not going to beat a jetski out of the hull, but i would hardly call it a slug.

I would have got a 911 but i couldnt fit it in my garage. I love the boat and it is different thatn everything else on the market. I hate blending in!

tom,

i got to see one at BPS in vegas and at diamond valley. The center consol 911 are sick! so much room and everthing ive heard aboat the 911 is the ride. it rides great, good turning, wide open front deck. they guy a DVL i talked to said "it feels like a heavy boat" When he was at top speed the boat didnt feel like it was going to fall apartwhen it went over the wake. when it hit a wake, it cut through it. boats will feel like there raddeling. ex: when flying across the lake and you take a hard turn and hit a wake, for that breif sec. you dont go "oh s***". that sold me i just wish they cost under 50 G's

Tom,

What you should really do is give Alan Fong a call. Alan is not only the go to guy for fishing information (via Fishermans Warehouse in Sacramento) but he is also the host of "Fun Fishing" TV show and has been running the 911 for more than a year now. I think his boat is for sale but I can't be 100% sure.

Alan can be found at Fishermans Warehouse in Sacramento. Sorry, I don't have the number in front of me.

How is Allan doing? I know he had a lot of health problems a while back! Hope all is well with him!

Tom Feel free to call me. I replied to your email with my phone number. I changed my name because it matches my email... :-)

Having sold the 911 while I was with Gone Fishin Marine, the people that owned them, loved them. One of the key features of the center console is that it separates the boater from the non-boater and you don't get the contention between the consoles. I hope I am making sense. In a traditional dual console boat, the boater or driver is always waiting for the area between the consoles to clear so he can sit down.

The center console removes this, the driver goes to the left, the passenger goes to the right. And you never have the other guys butt in your face... If you have been in a bass boat, you know what I am talking about.

Plus the side seat flips down to reveal a step and that keeps the non-boater from stepping on your seats. And I have sold a hot foot for the 911, so that is not a problem, it is a dealer installation.

Good luck, if I can answer any questions for you, let me know.

Mark Blanton is the owner, a bass fisherman and a good guy, he will stand behind his boats. Please tell him that I referred you.
