Does anyone use the Markeys Big Bait Box

Post by MartinD »

I got one coming and was wondering if it's a good box for swimbaits.
Thanks, Martin D

Yes its a great box, but i dont use it. I make my own! Same thing but i can make mine for $5.00 not $20.00. Plus i have two sizes an 8'' and the standard. both double wide.

All you have to do is get a couple of these nuts:

and one of these fully threaded bolts;

Then drill 2 holes, cut the bolt to the proper length, put some loctite in the nuts and fasten... you have your box($4.39 @ tacklewarehouse) for $5.00. I hope someone finds this helpfull.

They fit Huds perfect! Man now that the word is out I hope they dont raise the prices! I better go buy more tomorrow :lol:

I use 2 different boxes....
Plano Pro Latch Utility Box 2-3731 is the same as the "Markley"
and then i cheat.... I buy the Plano Pro Latch Utility Box 2-3630... Its smaller and fits Hud size swimbaits perfectly. i can fit 6 in one box and no wasted space! the only problem is i have to cut out the 2 inner leafs. But that only takes about 5 mins with a Dremel. I will post some pics tonight after i get off work.

Here are the dimensions of the 2 boxes mentioned,
2-3731 = 14"L x 9.13"W x 3.25"H
2-3630 = 11"L x 7.25"W x 2.75"H
