Lake Amador Spawn??

Post by Gunzen »

Hey guys! I am planning a trip to Lake Amador at the end of May, and am wondering/hoping the spawn will be over for most bass and that good pre summer bite will be on. Is the spawn started there yet? And if so, by the end of may (third week or so), will the bass be back to normal feeding?
I realize this is only a guess, but how long does the spawn useually last? I know they dont spawn all at once, so will some be back to normal ya think?
I will be there a week from Sun, but wondering if anyone has seen bedfish yet? thanks guys.

:) The spawn is on. Water was up to 68 degrees, check out the back of the coves, hard to see the beds, but they're all over. Mostly males right now, but sure is fun. The bigger females are probably out in deeper water right now. Used shakey heads with 7inch worms, color was no object. A ton of fish can be caught right now. Have a great time,

The spawn will be over by the end of May. Topwater and Senkos should be great baits for your trip. Good luck!

thanks for the info, does amador have one of those dead times after the spawn? Or do they get to normal pretty fast? I seem to remeber it getting pretty good even right after, with empty beds etc. reason I was so curious is my friend is flying in from Arizona and I just wanna make sure he has a good time. Thanks again!
See ya guys out there next sunday!
