Delta Dropshottin
What set up is everyone using? Spinning reel or baitcaster?
Re: Delta Dropshottin
Both.
Light cover or outside the weed edges I'm using a heavier spinning rod (the same rod I use for light jigs at Berryessa) with 10-12 lb test, 1/0 Gamakatsu Drop Shot hooks and 3/16-1/4 oz weight.
For heavy cover or tulles I'm using 15lb floro, the new Owner Twistlock with Sprint on Shank hooks and 1/4-3/8oz weights with a lighter flipping stick (something with more tip) on baitcasting gear.
Also I found that on the delta that I was loosing a lot of dropshot weights so I switched over to using the very inexpensive Bass Casting Sinkers (Bass Pro part number 38-441-832-04).
For worms I keep it really simple and use the 6" Fat Roboworms in your typical delta colors.

I Use a small baitcaster. The Shimano 100 series reels are perfect for down to 8# test. I like the baitcaster better because it allows for better cast control, more precise presentations, and I can thumb the spool if I need to stop a big fish from pulling drag.
PS - I like the excitment of light line better too.
