Re: IF YOU COULD ONLY AFFORD (2) RODS
A decent all around rod like my Powell 784 and a decent crank bait/ripping rod like my Lamiglas Yellow Skeet Reese Crankin Stick.
(Crankin and ripping are two of my favorite ways to fish...)

You can always do what I do.... Keep checking Walmart.
-- Seriously...... It's those dayum $5- $15 dollar rods that keep getting me in trouble........
What I have gotten from there in the last 3 months.
A single piece 6' 6" Berkley Tatix in MLight (IM7 Graphite) for $5 (Spinning) .... For Split shotting.
A single Piece 7' Berkley Lightning in Med (IM6 Graphite) for $9 (Spinning) ....... For Dropshotting
A single Piece 6' Berkley Lightning in Hvy (IM6 Graphite) for $5 (Spinning) .......Never used -- But will be the the youngest son's pole for Stripers this comming season.
A TeamDiawaV 6'6" MH Baitcasting for $12.... Using for topwater baits with 20# proline
A Quantum 6'6" Tour Edition in IM8 Medium for plugs. $14
A Quantum 7' Tour Edition in IM8 MediumHvy for Senkos. $14
Now topping them off with Quality reels is a Totally different story.... (Mostly ABU's for casting --and Okuma's for spinning) That was very expensive.......
I will pass those rods boys on to my boys...... when I find what I can afford later down the line. -- Of course we are also using them all the time collectively.
I do own one Snizzle Rod....
-- It is the Shimano Cruical CRC-C76MH and I topped it off with the Abu Record #50 with 55# braid for jig fishing and can use for swimbaits/stripers/ and Salmon as well if I change the line.
--- Onother thing to consider...... With the comming release of Dobyns Rods....... Keep a very close eye on the WB Classifieds for the mass sell off of others that have switched.

You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

If I could only afford two rods, I'd get a...
SECOND JOB!!!!! Even if I had to work at Walmart on weeknights, I'd find a way to buy the rods I need for enjoyable fishing. In truth, I need two completely different sets of rods....
One heavy set for the Delta, Amador, Clearlake, Camanche and any other lakes that offer a good chance to get into big fish.
Then, I need a second set of finesse rods for places where I prefer to fish with finesse baits like Oroville, Shasta, Folsom, Pardee or when I'm taking kids out fun fishing.
Two rods ONLY...I'd probably give up fishing and sit in a corner banging my head against the wall! LOL!
.....NaCl
ps Once I got that job at Walmart, I'd use the money to pick up one Dobyns rod each month until I had the set I need!

Re: IF YOU COULD ONLY AFFORD (2) RODS
A Loomis MBR 783 in GL2 and a Lamiglas 806 are the most versatile rods I have ever owned for my style of fishing. I could cover almost every technique I use on the Delta or Clear lake with them. Followed closely by a Loomis SJR 782 spinning rod for finesse stuff and either a Loomis MBR 864 or a Lamiglas 764 which both fill the gap perfectly between my first two choices.

2 Dobyns "Mike Long" swimbait rods!

Re: IF YOU COULD ONLY AFFORD (2) RODS
Lamiglas xc704j and the 806 would cover pretty much cover everything if you were limited to only two! flip-it,pitch-it,skip-it,crank-it,walk-it,shake-it,twitch-it and grip-it!

Re: IF YOU COULD ONLY AFFORD (2) RODS
I would have to go with MEGABASS F41/2-68 JABBERWOCK EVOLUTION, AND F6-69 SUPERDESTROYER.
Don't Run With Scissors!!!!!!
Re: IF YOU COULD ONLY AFFORD (2) RODS
Silly question. Have you ever met a bass fisherman with only 2 rods?
Re: IF YOU COULD ONLY AFFORD (2) RODS
Yeah....my 3 yr old has more than 2 rods!!
OOps did i say that?

"when in doubt??....ask your wife if it's ok!"
Re: IF YOU COULD ONLY AFFORD (2) RODS
I agree with Kelly. I'll take 2 Megabass rods over any other 2 rods.
Re: IF YOU COULD ONLY AFFORD (2) RODS
Where can I purchase Megabass Rods? I have been looking to buy a 6'10" spinning Arron Martens limited spinning and I can't seem to find anywhere in the US where they are sold. Any help would be appreciated.....
Re: IF YOU COULD ONLY AFFORD (2) RODS
I'd have a 7' Heavy action, fast tipped rod for jig fishing. I could use this fer c-riggin, frogging, swimbaits, Senkos you name it.
Second rod would be one of my custom Lamiglass Moochin rods that I use fer cranks. This can double too as a blade, buzzer, chugger and rippen rod.
Oh, and don't let Sault fool ya, he sits in the corner bangin' his head against the wall every day, has nothin' ta do with fishin or not! HAR! HAR! HAR!
