Trolling Motor help???
I have noticed a huge power loss in my trolling motor. I have tried multiple batteries, and checked voltage to the pedal, etc, everything is fine, but the motor is just sluggish. It is a minn kota at55. Anyone have any ideas? or at least a place to service them close to fresno or merced?? There is no line between the motor and the blade either.

Re: Trolling Motor help???
Is it a newer motor? I had a 55 Power Drive that smoked one of the power relays on the main circuit board. If you take a whiff at the motor mount base you could smell the smoked component.

Re: Trolling Motor help???
Did you remove the prop and check for fishing line wrapped around the shaft??
Re: Trolling Motor help???
I took it that he had... But if he just looked and didn't pull it apart that could be the whole prob right there!Gunzen wrote: There is no line between the motor and the blade either.
