Yup for softplastic jig trailers Yamamoto's are hard to beat. Every now and then I am also known to tip a sweetbeaver as a jig trailer tooMARK INMAN wrote:yamamoto's 4" & 5 " twin tails 5" single tails

I used to use the small and large berkley power crawss. Not the new craw but the older ones. I had great success with those. The only place I can find them now is BASS Pro shops.

4" zipper craw junior, trimmed to the length you like, cant go wrong with the baby brush hog either, sometimes a single tail grub or arse end of a spent worm when on a budget.

Big Mama's in 4 inch, baby Brush Hogs or sometimes the 6in cut at the wing section. Double tail grub, and the Super Chunk by ZOOM
I try an make my jigs compact and no more than 5inch's in length. If you look in your livewell and if the bass had regergitate their craws you will notice that their about 4 inches in length 80% of the time.

I'll tell ya what guys......
As much as I've been using a variety of Zoom, Yamamoto and V&M trailers, There is an awesome plastic trailer out there ya outa take a look at! And I told the guy who told me about them, I would not spill the beans right away. And I didn't, but Brian did! LOL

Netbait, makes an unbelievable plastic, craw like trailer. Now most guys have been using the Paca Craws. This bait is very popular back east! Their craw was the bait I was first turned on to. After searching the web and finding a local distributor in SoCal, I ordered a few color patterns of the Paca Craw. I was truely impressed, although I could not git the bites on them I expected. The Paca Craw is actually a tube/craw bait, not really the best jig trailer. Upon revisiting the website I purchased my first Paca Craws from, I found they made another bait called the Paca Chunk. BINGO! This is an awesome bait on this River behind a jig. You have never seen a trailer like this for a jig, until ya tie one of these Netbait Paca Chunks on and swim a jig with it.
I never thought I'd ever find a plastic trailer, that would ever replace a Yamamoto single tailed grub, especially fer post spawn and through the summer and into fall. This Paca Chunk, is catchin fish now and I know it will be an amazing bait in the summer and fall when those bass are chasing gills and other fish type forage. The action of those two claws, can only be described as "butterfly like". Time will tell, that Yamamoto 164 is hard ta beat here and on other lakes through out this state. This Paca Chunk though, is something special!
Here's where I get em online, http://WWW.highrollerwest.COM, Hook M Up WW (909-864-5226) - Highland,CA Tell Heidi, Cooch sent ya!
Ps. Rich is absolutely right, if'n ya wanna catch those 2-3 pounders he's says he's after, they do feed on craws of that size 80% of the time. But if'n ya wanna catch more of those 5-10 pounders on jigs guys, like the ones that regurgitate 8-10" craws in my livewells, fish big trailers so yer jig is about 6-8" long, AND bulky!

Too Funny a buddy of mine PM'd me during this thread about the Paca Chuncks. I too discovered the Paca Craws and Paca Chunks about a year ago. These things really are special and have a great swimming kicking action that no other bait I have thrown has. I also prefer them once the fish activity levels get up during post spawn through fall.
However, when the fishes mood changes and they want something slower the Yammamoto's are tough to beat!
Thanks for letting the Cat out of da BAG! I should write damn you Brian L....GRRRR

I didn't order any of these...I went and looked at um and I'm firmly convinced they WILL NOT work on Clear Lake AT ALL. Thanks for no help at all everyone....jeesh...I mean the 3" and 3.5" crapa chunk were both loser baits IMO

Re: I'll tell ya what guys......
Stock it sure doesn't
You'll never catch me throwin' it thar
Yup...them crapa chunks don't werk at Clear Lake either so don't bother wit dem either Stock
I do however prefer a large trailer than the Paca Chunk at Clear Lake
I use the Paca and Super Chunks mostly fer keepers
(however the fish on the far right of my signature block ate a super chunk trailer on a black and blue jig at Clear Lake, right Greg H.?).
Miss Tori knows what I use fer the "Real Girls"

Hey Gary, can I guess what your secret Shakey head worm is? How about your "secret" jig trailer for the "BIG GIRLS" at Clear lake? I doubt Torri has one (OH MY!!! Did I just say that?) LOL!!!!
Re: I'll tell ya what guys......
Hey Nicholas,
Yes, you know "the secret worm" I throw
but that ain't much of a secret anymore
But I didn't say worm...I said "bait"
The "secret bait" and the line I throw it on
Shooter GitzRDun
has helped me win three events this year. Have you checked my results lately? $$$ Had two donkeys on it at Casitas last month in practice too
And Yes Tori doesn't have one
but she did catch here kicker at the Rally last year with mine

Last summer.......
at Clear Lake I absolutely destroyed and caught some big fish(in the Narrows) with the Skinny Bear football(1/2oz brn/org barbwire) and the NetBait paca craw chunk(color-Alabama Craw) threaded on as my trailer. I never put it down. The secret to it was to slow roll it and keep it moving on the bottom ticking the rocks. Keep those claws flapping and hold on. Drives them nuts. If you were not moving it and the claws were not flapping, very few bites. Awesome trailer. It was amazing how far offshore I was getting those fish(pigs) grouped up. Definitely a great reaction trailer. D.B.COOPER
