Trolling Motor???????

Post by Doug Hodel »

I am going to be in the market for a new trolling motor soon, and have been shopping around a bit.

I was think Minn-kota, and was also wondering about the built in transducer, etc.

Does the built in transducer work well, or should I avoid models such as this?

Any suggestions???

Thanks in advance.

We have the Minn Kota Maxuum 80 and love it, friends have the 101 and love it........We like the delayed respons time, tends to not toss you out of the boat when you step on the go switch !!!!

Just our opinion

Well, both MG & MK have motors with built-in X'ducers. Alot of guys swear by them and just as many swear at them! Both makers also have the slow-start feature now. You will hear pros and cons of both brands. My recommendation would be to talk to someone like Gene from the Hook that is an authorized repair shop for both and find what the latest scoop is!

I love the MinnKota, especially in weeds.

Only difference I see (have had both on my boat) is that the MInns are just smoother and quieter, seemed to squak much less.
