Need some important Clear Lake recommendations - Food!
I will be spending 3 days at Clear lake next week with some buddies in the Lakeport area, I've never stayed in this area before. I found a vacation rental home from this site and now I need your help with some restaurant recommendations. Please tell me the best places for great food, I'll take all recommendations from best bargain to high end, any type of food as long as it's good!! My buddies are not fishermen and have never been to Clear Lake before and I want to make sure they enjoy the food as much as the awesome fishing that I hope is still hot next week. Thanks for the help, this is great site for information.

Re: Need some important Clear Lake recommendations - Food!
Forgot one last question, feel kind of stupid to ask, but one of my buddies wants to know if there is a Starbucks in the area?
Re: Need some important Clear Lake recommendations - Food!
The Cottage next to the Skylark Motel at the North End of Lakeport has good breakfast and basic food.
Ashley's, 155 N. Main Street, served up some excellent dinners me last year when I was there for the Stren.
These are a couple places that come to mind when I think of eating in Lakeport.
I sure Jimmy Reese or Seigy can give you more options
Don't recall a Starbuck's but there is a great little Espresso Kiosk that makes great drinks, I always pull thru with the boat attached
It is right before the Chevron on the South part of Main Street

Ashley's is gone. There is a coffee shack across from the Cheveron but it is no Starbucks. There is Angels in Finley for awsome Mexican food. Also Main street Bar and Grill in Clear Lake. Also the restraunt at the 3rd street Ramp is great.

These are really good for dinner, you ought to try both while there.
Kelseyville The Saw Shop Bitro
http://www.sawshopbistro.com/
Upper Lake The Blue Wing Saloon
http://www.bluewingsaloon.com/
I've never been but my neighbors up there go to the Robinson Rancheria Casino in Upper Lake
http://www.robinsonrancheria.biz/index.asp
I know the south side better.
You can pull up to Konocti and get some lunch.
If you are in Clearlake (the town) there is a good BBQ place to try called Andre's, it is right on Lakeshore about 1 mile above Redbud.
Right at Redbud on Lakeshore is Kathie's Inn, a good dinner steak/seafood place.
Also in Clearlake in the Main Street Bar and Grill, a local hangout.
Try some local wine like:
Steele
http://www.steelewines.com/
Ceago (they have a dock on the water for boat up tasting!)
http://www.ceago.com/
and look for some Lady of the Lake Pear Champagne
Maybe catch some crappie and have a fish fry at the house.
all the above "wife approved!"

STARBUCKS IN LAKEPORT?
I wish!..................As far as coffee BYO!......drive through by the Chevron, or there still may be oneon main street between 1st street and 4th street. There was two there but I have seen so many new owners and closings and reopenings that I lost track!!! There is supposed to be a Starbucks opening soon!......
Dinner,....PARKPLACE ...It is located next to the ramp by library park ( 3rd street) TNT is by the other ramp next to library park this is mexican food, and there Carnitas is pretty tasty..Both have views of the lake, These are the only really safe bets, once in a while we head over to Carlos and Vinnies on main street most of the time it is pretty good, There is /was a really tasty bbq place over off of lakeshore blvd not sure if there open, the owner decided the waitress tasted better than his own BBQ..
I here there is a great steak place in Kelseyville, I havn't been there. Blue wing in Upperlake is good, it is about 15 minutes away. Havnt been to dinner at Ceago yet over in Lucerne, this is a beautiful winery on the water, I am not sure if they serve food yet?
Good Luck! Jimmy

The Park Place Restaurant is about the only place I'd recommend. Other than that, bring your own meat and BBQ!

Re: Need some important Clear Lake recommendations - Food!
Just moved up to Clear Lake. BIG difference from dining in Fresno and dining at Clear Lake
So far, our favorite by a landslide is the Saw Shop in Kelseyville. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. I highly recommend this place for dinner. You won't be dissappointed.
Angel's for Mexican food in Finley is very good.
TNT for Mexican in Lakeport is good.
Molly Brennens in Lakeport has a killer corned beef and also a good microbrew selection.
Now if we only had a Sushi Bar

Sicily's is the place to go. Excellent food and good steaks too! We recently had a club event at Clear Lake and we all ate at Sicily's and it was the best meal we had the three days we were up there. If you haven't tried it, its worth a stop to try it your self.
Re: Need some important Clear Lake recommendations - Food!
I second Sicily's on main st. had great dinner there. I'm not to fond of Italian food, but it was very good, and I know the next trip the wife will want to go back also.

Re: Need some important Clear Lake recommendations - Food!
Molly Brennan's Irish pub in downtown Lakeport is nice. Irish food like bangers & mash....burgers, too.
Sicily's is homestyle Italian, like the Bay Area Joe's restaurants
For Diners, I recommend Renee's, right across from Tackle It on N. Main.
My guests like Park Place for the most part. They didn't impress me.
TNT is not as good as Angel's IMO...but Angel's is a bit out of the way.
I haven't been to the saw shop since the new chef, BUT....while you're in Kelseyville, go to MArcie's brick cafe', only open till 2 p.m., but the burgers are really good.
We like the Blue Wing in Upper Lake, eat there a lot.
But our new favorite for a nice meal is Watercolors at Ferndale Resort in Soda Bay. Really good food, & as yet, largely undiscovered. This place is not cheap eats, though.

Re: ROTFLMAO!!!
Hey Scott, You would never believe what happened last night!
I picked up Sieg's first account!
After the great debate yesterday on where to eat in lakeport, I decided to take the wife and try out some of the finest food lake county has to offer! Headed over to the Saw shop. Boy I got some major browny points and I ate some pretty tasty food!
So I told the mgr that I knew of somebody that recided in lake county that was a professional fisherman and he was extremely experienced at catching these gold colored fish that are very tasty served in a rice roll! He said they were very interested in serving the freshest fish possible....I said that he lived only ten minutes from here and I would have him contact him! Hey pretty cool huh?
The only problem I see is possibly under the new Ca. laws, that sieg's catch vs. snag ratio may cause him to come up with a new technique for catching them!
Hmmmmm. Good thing he has the misty girls!
Good atmosphere, good food, recommend making reservations for sure! He gave me a funny look when we walked in without a reservation! I told him I was Skeet Reese's brother and he sat me right down!!!
