We are working on it... Unfortunately, the new program they used for the results doesn't like giving them up in a useable format...

I'll let you know when they are up!
Thanks,
Tom

Didnt that same program screwup the am side during the awards?

Nice program.

If it will export the info in comma delimited text you can take that info and import it to excell.

As a last resort if it will display the info to the screen you can use a screen capture and copy the info as a jpeg then trim it up in any paint program and then post it.

It was that same program. I am rewriting a program myself to do it for future events.. This one seems to be a P.O.S. (Piece of ....) I guess you get what you pay for.

It doesn't do options... It doesn't seem to work right or easy. I have one about 75% done for Pro Ams.. I will knock it out in the next week or two.

As for importing into excel and screen captures.. I appreciate your help... but, 1. The export program doesn't export all the names correctly... and 2. To do a screen capture we can't get all 81 names on the screen at the same time... and that is pretty hokie anyway.

Bare with us... If I was at HQ it would be done.. but, I am not so I am working with Teresa to get these out to me so I can get them up.

Tom I appreciate that your probably busting your marbles to get this info out.

You need to talk to the company that put out this program and let them know there bugs. Maybe they can be of assistance here.

If it were me I would call them up and let them have it! Its nothing but a simple database. Any good SQL programmer could write this.

If it doesnt do options than this wasnt written by anyone whos knows anything about tournaments.

As far as the screen capture. Just capture the top portion of the page then the lower portion of that same page.

Now copy and past one into the other using a good paint program. I use Gimp myself. Free and works as well as photoshop!

The program I am writing is Visual C++ with an access DB backend.

As for this program - with the crap I have seen it do, I doubt they have any idea how to fix it.

I wrote software for 12 years prior to my fishing life and it ranks right up there with the stuff I wrote in high school!

No worries.. I have the pro's figured out.. working on the AMs now!

Good deal Tom! I would have probably written it using Vis Basic seeing how its going to be a small program or should be. I would also use MySQL. Powerful database and free.

Another way would be to use MySQL and PHP. This way you could use it easily over the web. Both free!

Access is limited in how many records you can keep.

But your the one writing it so go with what your used to and what makes ya happy.

As far as Mysql and PHP... There is no guarantee that the laptops they are going to use will have server side components installed to run these.

With Access and Visual C++ any laptop will run it just fine with nothing special installed... in fact it doesn't even need Microsoft Access on it.

As far as Access having record limitations that is a myth. At a past job (Crossroads Software) we had several police departments/highway patrol agencies and State department of Transportation departments that had over 1 million traffic citations and collisions over a 20 year span. Access managed them just fine and wasn't even slow, as I would have expected!!!

Here is a link to what the software I wrote did.. http://www.syware.com/company/case_stud ... ndheld.php
there were a couple other articles in Law and Order magazine on it as well. Access is crazy powerful and what some people can do with it could blow your mind! Just for example: Jeff Cullen owner of Crossroads Software wrote a system that GIS maps collisions in access and does it by distances from an intersection (as traffic accidents are reported) 50 Feet West of First and Main. It's freaking amazing and the entire map and the collision and citation points are all generated in access and viewed in ArcView.

Our web based application that I wrote for our Tournament Directors to post their own resuls VERY EASILY was written in .ASP with an access DB on the server. They post right from their Excel spreadsheets they use to run the events by just selecting the tournament and the spreadsheet off their local computer and my software does the rest. That is why MOST of our directors get their results up the same day as the tournament --- some do it within minutes of arriving home from the event!

That's way too much info for this site! If you want to know more feel free to email me!

Back to working on the AMs now!

Wow, the weight fluctuations from day 1 to day 2 outside the top two are amazing. Just goes to show how tough patterning these little green fish can be.

My understanding is that the wind blew big time on day two and may be the reason for the reduction in weights.

Re: Pro's

The wind was definitely the reason...

Franks was a mud pit. The main channel had 4 to 6 footers.. I decided to not make the run from Big Break back... and took the 5's and the 0 for day 2. Didn't matter I only had a small limit anyway.

day 2

Post by Steve Reed »

day 2 was definetly tough...day 1 my pro had a solid pattern and finished 4th overall sticking to that pattern.

I tried to use that pattern on day 2 but was unable to get on any fish, we had planned on hitting a couple of spots but the wind kept us away...

day 1 we culled a 22lb limit and were throwing back 4lbers all afternoon. It was a blast, learned a lot both days though.

I fished with Art the first day and had a good time. It was tough with the way the weather was screwin with those little green guys.

Day two was a mess. I fished with Mike and we just could not get the biggins to bite. He did nail a 7+ though.

The channel was pretty bad I ate alot of water goin across it. Both of us were soaked. Worst day I have seen out there.
