Need to Find Chris Laskowski

I need your guys help to find Chris Laskowski. Last week I bought a boat from him via. a check. Boat was listed on this sight so I figure I use it to find the seller. The title was going to be sent to me as soon as the title had cleared but he has dissapeared. I can't imagine why he would do this given that he is a well respected local pro and he owns Agler's Attic in Anderson. Has anyone seen him between Friday and present? Is he hurt or dead? He has cashed my check and I'm left with a boat without title. Can someone please help?

Chris is an upstanding guy... Did you already call Angler's Attic? Careful with the public stuff until the transaction is complete... It can be hard on a business, and he's straightforward with everyone.

It is not my intention to bad mouth the guy on a public forum. I'm simply stating facts. Also, I'm concerned why such an "outstanding" guy like Chris won't follow through with the sale of his boat. Like I said above, he may have lost his phone and my adress to send the pink slip. I don't exactly know. HMM, but that dosen't explain why no one picks up the phone atl Agler's Attic (530-604-6965). Does anyone know if he is ok? Chris if you lost your phone and/or my adress, you need to call me on my cell 916 947 3248. Displaying our transaction on this forum may be extreme but I do not know a better way to contact you at this time.

"Nobody even answers the phone!" Of course, if you try calling the correct number you might have better results. Nah, don't check the number, just come on here and act like you got ripped off and cast doubts on his integrity. BTW Angler's Attic is in Redding, not Anderson but at least you spelled his name right.

Yah I screwed up on typing the phone number. That is his cell #. No one picks up that one as well. The last two digits Curadodude listed is reversed should be 530-245-0654. Thanks Curadodude for the correction--a young lady answered the phone and said there is no Chris there. I got the other number from the internet and the boat ad. And Bryanmc, this is no joke and no bull. Chris all my claims are true and you have no right to say other. I have a copy of

*my cashed check
*the boat
*tape of him cashing the check
*eye witness of the purchase
*A sales contract

What I don't have is a pink slip. "Amazing" how nieve people can be when they're not the victim. Trust me the next step is to hunt him down if he doesn't contact me by the end of this week. Not to hard to convince the Cops when I have all the evidence on my side. Its very simple when you sell something--you get paid and you IMMEDIATELY hand the item over to the buyer.

Ummm let me try to make this simple for you. You gave him the check last Thursday night. He took it to the bank on Friday. Sure, he cashed it, that doesn't mean it cleared YOUR bank. It just means they gave him money for your check. If it doesn't clear YOUR bank they will deduct the amount from HIS account since there's enough in there to cover it. Since he took it to the bank on Friday, logically it will be 1 or 2 working days for it to clear YOUR bank. He did let you take the boat on YOUR promise that YOUR check was good. He didn't make you prove that it was covered by insurance in case it got wrecked while you were towing it home. Personally I would have made you bring cash and handed you the title right there. You have the bill of sale, the boat and the cancelled check. What could possibly make you think you wouldn't be getting the title?

So lets see.... six days later (4 working days) your on the internet thinking you got taken and talking trash about Chris. If your check cleared YOUR bank on Tuesday and he mailed the title on Tuesday you should have gotten it Today. When I saw him this morning he told me he had sent you an email telling you he had mailed it already (either Monday or Tuesday, I don't remember which) I do hope that when your title shows up you man up and apologize and retract your statements.

Sorry to everyone else for venting... it's been a long day.

According to my bank Chris has cashed the check at my bank not his. Therefore he has cash money in his pocket. Yes I did recieve e-mail yesterday from him saying he had sent it in the mail. I have not yet seen it. Maybe he copied the adress off my driver lisence wrong. I dont know. Again all this public display can be avoided with a simple phone call. I trust your his fishing partner--I forget your name. You guys are a hell of a team--in a good way. I think today, Friday, will be the last day I wait before I take further action. I just don't have the patience.

Thanks guys for all the help. Just spoke with his wife today at Angler's Attic about the situation. Chris apparently turns his cell phone off while out of town. The talk with his wife reassured me to think that these people are not out to rip me off. I'm sure we will find out that the pink slip was either lost in the mail or inadvertantly not sent. I hope everthing works out.

Chris called me Friday night. As we talked about where he would have sent it, when he said "address on driver lisence" it dawned on me that it went to my Mom's house. I never updated my driver's lisence."
