Personal Best Hooray for Me!

Post by Big Rick KFOG »

You want a little vacation house on a lake so you can go up and fish all the time?! Sometimes you gotta do some work as well to keep things up!

So when the wind blows sometimes I just have to get stuff done. Saturday I decided to not put the boat in and 1) get things done, and 2) fish off the dock.

I was in the south end of the Clear Lake in a little cove. Midday with the high skies I hooked a new PB 8.1 on a drop shot rig.

Catch, 2 quick pictures, revived, released!

report in the reports

And thanks to the guys fishing/working the 100% tourney for letting me fish with them on Saturday on the south end of Clear Lake. That was really cool.

"I'm going out to fish," Simon Peter told them, and they said, "We'll go with you." So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing.

Congrats - big bass sometimes happen to the best of us! They will come in bunches now - at least that's what they told me - and they did!! Congrats again - I still remember my first "8" - April Fool's Day, 1980, at Lake Amador! The fish felt like a fool, not me!!!

Nice fish Rick. I didn't make it up last weekend. Tried to go to Berryessa but the road was closed due to the fire. Ended up going to Oroville with the wife. We caught around 50 but all dinks. Are you going up for the holiday weekend? I'll be there on Friday but I stay away during the actual weekend. See you there if you bug out of the Bay Area early.

I think I'll be up this weekend, but not early. One problem with my job is I can't be late, and I can never leave early.

Try the back 1/3rd of the cove in the middle if you are close by. They are either there or not.
