Delta swimbait question

I went out on Sunday and threw that damm swimbait until my arm felt like it would fall off.
Here's the deal, I raised up about 10 to 11 bass that went 7-9 lb range but none of them would eat the bait, they just followed just behind and one looked like he was going to eat it but turned at the last second. My question is when this happens do you guys do anything different with the bait?? Do I just keep winding or should I kill it when I see the fish?? or do some kind of fig 8, or a dance, or just flip them off when this happens. Color change??

Flipping them off does it for me..If you ever figure out a for sure way to make them commit let the rest of us know..

There is nothing you can do. You just have to deal with it. You can try anything you want, just maybe youll get one to go, but my money is against it.

You just have to put your head down and keep fishing. Sometimes, for no apparent reason, followers become biters and then the fun starts.

Hey dog, I sure don't know much about Delta bass. I got an 8 lb'er there yesterday on a swimbait..... But it had Stripes {not the swimbait... the bass}

I just wish I knew that place well enough that I could > raise up about 10 to 11 bass that went 7-9 lb range < !!!

.......because those fish will eat a swimbait when they are good and ready ! My best advice is, to mark those spots on the map in your head, and go back, and again, and again, until you hit one just right ! And I don't just mean "day after day" {not sure how often you get to go out} but also, if you have some spots that you know hold big fish (because you have seen them with your own two eyes) try to hit those spots at least 3 or 4 times throughout the day !

I can't tell you how many times I have hit a big-fish spot 2 or 3 times in a day, without a hit or follow, only to go back for the 3rd or 4th time, and stick a pig !

I just think too many people look at it like "they are just not feeding on this spot 'today".... when they should be thinking, "they are just not feeding on this spot "right now"...... but in an hour, everything can, and often does change !

Now, for my advice, you can just PM me a couple of those big fish spots LOL

PS, if your fishing water which is shallow enough, and bare bottomed, sometimes (like say 1 in 5 or 10) killing your swimbait and letting it sink to the bottom, will get them to scoop it up. Very cool when the water is clear enough to see this happen.

Fish is right on, if you have that many followers of that size you are doing a lot right. Your lure choice and approach angles are probably good. Try speeding up your retrieve, even burn it. If that don’t work keep going back, same tide different day. You’ll get-em. Good luck

Follow Fish Chris's advice, I've been throw'in swimbaits since March 1st and I know what your see'in out there.

You didn't say what SWB you were throw'in, but I've been throwin WOOD. Color selection can make a difference on the Delta like the combination of Jigs or senko's, watch the water color and fish the color accord'inly. Your bluegill patterns right know are work'in the best. Darker until the sun rises, as the sun rises go lighter. Been averag'in 18lbs to 24lbs a day

The thing is, you have to believe in what your throw'in to produce and don't give up on it. Wak'in it, reel'in it, or kill'in it all work's. You just have to find witch one for that day.

They don't work,, it's just a myth... LOL. My last day out I had a 6-7lb fish follow all the way to the boat, I killed the bait, gave a few twitches and she nailed it.... it's worth a try, otherwise do what Chris says.

I am agluttin for punishment but, I am going to go out tomorrow and try it again. I will try what Fish Chris said and I will have some different colors.
I dont think I will see that many this time, but it seemed like they were on the spawn again. I did see some girls on beds and I was thinking the spawn sould be well over with by now. I guess the water really is not that hot yet so maybe.
The bait I was using is a L.A. Slider. I took out the heavy weight and smashed the shizzle out of it with hammer, then cut most of the weight so it is about 3/8 to 1/2 oz.I will throw a post and let you guys know how it went.

Probably be a typo...bet he meant the 3:16 Minnow for up top applications Those 3:16 Minnows don't work at all on the Delta Hee...hee...hee

I don't wake it or run it on top or just under the water. I use a 3:19 for that.
