Solar Bat Len colors help

Post by Morgan »

Has anyone tried the Solar Bat Mossback Gradient polorized lens? How do they compare to the regular Mossbacks? I finally found a pair of frames that will fit my face blocking the light around the edges, and was ready to go for the Mossback after lots of good reviews, then the Gradient comes along.....

The Gradient MPCY lens are very new, I'm still awaiting my first pair. The Mossback lense is amazing, has been since the begginning. Ya certainly can't go wrong here. It will be interesting to see how the low light HiConY lense matches together with the Mossback. Worst case, I suspect it will make bed fishing at night a breeze!

Hey Jimmy Reese, how bout you, ya git a pair of these yet?

Colors help

3 lenses/ ten days

I used the Gradient, HiConY and Mossback lenses for ten straight days on Clear Lake for the Stren tournament sightfishing and just reading water. I ended up using the HiConY lenses from about first light till 9 AM because they really are great in low light or off light conditions. At 9AM I would then put on the Gradient so I could look through both the Mossback and HyConY colors as I moved from shade to sun and back again. The gradient is really good for tracking fish in and out of shadows. After 12PM I would go to the Mossbacks for the rest of the day.

Over the years I have used the Mossbacks most of the time. It is probably the best all around lens.

I love having the option of the gradient available for the morning to daytime transition period.

Good luck

Do ya think they would be too light for the rest of the day, as in If I only got one pair of glasses, would gradient be the way to go?

Morgan, if I could only go with one pair I would get the gradient since you have the best of both worlds. The mossback tops are great for the distance work, the HCY for spotting smallmouths and for ease of tying knots and other close work. That is why Dr. Nesty came up with the Gradient...specifically to give you two great lens colors in one.
