Bill Heading To Senate.....

Post by DeltaDan »

From NRA-ILA - The latest action by our elected officials: If it passes the Senate, the last chance is a governor's veto - and that is not something we would not want to count on. It's show time on this bill. We need to write or call our senators ASAP.

Update on California AB821 (lead ammunition ban) and AB1471 (microstamping)!
Thursday, June 28, 2007

On Tuesday, June 26 the Senate Natural Resources Committee passed Assembly Bills 821 and 1471.

AB 821 would ban the use of lead ammunition for hunting in various hunting zones around the state that incorporate condor range and require hunters to switch to non-lead substitutes. A lead ammunition ban will greatly affect our hunting heritage in California.

Also passing committee on Tuesday was Assembly Bill 1471 which would require that the make, model, and serial number be microstamped onto the interior surface or internal working parts of all handguns in such a manner that those identifiers are imprinted onto the cartridge case upon firing. Under AB1471, the manufacture, sale, and transfer of handguns that do not include their identifying information would be a crime.

[Note: This could possibly mean that all the handguns you now own would be illegal to sell or transfer in CA]

Please contact your State Senator today and respectfully urge him or her to oppose AB821 and AB1471. Contact information for your State Senator can be found by clicking here ~~~> http://www.capwiz.com/nra/state/main/?d ... yofficials
You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.
