Johnson outboard ?

Post by ScottyJ »

I'm looking at a 2003 175hp Johnson outboard. It has about 100 hours comes with controls and prop. The guy has it on an older fishing boat that he is getting rid of and wants $5000 plus shipping from back east.

Anyone know much about the quality of the newer Johnsons and does this sound like a good deal? Thanks!

My thought would be that you would be taking a $5K (+ shipping) gamble on buying a used motor sight unseen from someone somewhere back east.

I have to echo what Ken said. No way I wouldn't take a gamle that large without being able to have your own mechanic test it out.
