Bass Pro Shops Grand Opening all this week

Post by Brian D. »

Anyone going to visit and attend the festivities? Lots of fanfare and sales brochures in all the media sources. Guests such as Arnold S., Jimmy Houston, some NASCAR guy, old football stars, and other more notable folks will be there. Oh and of course we can't forget Bailey's 10 lb. toad, "Tinkerbell". :-)

Anyone working and doing product or tank demos?

I'll be there most of the day on Friday and Sunday in the tackle dept. working the Blakemore Roadrunner line. Stop by and say hello.

I was going to go tomorrow to see about buying a new boat , but i heard from very reliable sources that it is going to be a nightmare.
parking lot has room for only 1000-1200 cars and there is still equiptment in some area's. And the police is already getting ready for road shut down's and traffic issues and the mal acccross the street is having security to keep people from parking there.

i guess i'll have to wait a wek or so.
Have a tourney sat night at DVL so This weekend is pretty much a bust for going anyway's.

Hey Jasper get over to Angler's Marine............they carry the whole tracker line. No crowds, no traffic, and good people who actually fish besides I've already been to Bass Pro on Sunday.........you might be able to talk to 2 or 3 people that actually have a clue about fishing. MP

I was in there last Thursday for Mercury training and the place is crazy! It reminds me a whole lot of the Vegas store but seems bigger. I got a chance to eat at the restaurant there and the food is killer. Bumped into Mitch Southern who was doing a little recon  . I think this store will be great; Not only for BPS but also for all of the surrounding boat dealers as well.

You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

Mike's right. Anglers is the only place to buy a Tracker, no matter what model.
Just becaus BPS owns Tracker doesn't make them the place to buy, unless they're giving unreal deals.
Even if they are offering great deals, check with Rick at Anglers.
He can probably work something out, and you want to have him in your corner if boat issues arrise.
And Anglers is where you'll probably wind up taking your boat for service.

Grover ibnstead of opening the san diego place you should of invested in a sporting goods store people were spending money like crazy even white trash looking people that probably didn't have any money had shopping carts of junk

I took the wife over yesturday and we had dinner at BPS.

I walked through the store and things looked really busy. One trip through the tackle department proved that most of their staff knew very little about fishing not alone bass fishing.

It's a tourest attraction.

My grandfather wants to go. He's never been to one.

Took the family to Bass Pro Shops today - Sunday. Had to go at least once to check the place out. Like Mike G. said, not much I can get there that I can't get at Angler's or Last Chance except maybe Artwork, Clothes, and food.

--------------

54.1 miles each way ($20 in gas)
1 hour drive each way (with wife and kids)
Dinner out at Mexican Restaurant ($35)
Visit to Bass Pro Shops and dealing withthe crowd ($200)

Getting up in the morning and having your kids ask if they can go to Bass Pro Shops and having your wife agree (PRICELESS!)

BPS was nutz all weekend

Johnny Morris would be proud. The store broke all kinds of records in attendance, sales, etc. Every isle had 10-15 customers wandering around.

I worked in front of the aquarium on Friday and Sunday. Pretty cool when someone asks for your autograph. Felt kinda weird, but when kids come up and say sign my hat, it's a real joy.

The crowd loved the tank demo. I stood on the tiny rock outcropping with little room to cast and demo techniques, but it didn't seem to matter. Those fish were annihilating the Ribbit frog and Zoom fluke. Lots of ooohs and ahhhs watching (crowd had the fish eye view) as the fish stalked and ate the bait. Of course the hooks were bent over. As the manager said to me.. Mr. Morris doesn't like his pet fish hurt. :-)
