You know, it's funny. I've never had a problem throwing frogs with Mono but I hear a lot of folks like the braid for this.

Braid all the way, obviously it floats better, is ok in the brush, and cuts through the cabbage, plus wicked hooksets
Re: braid or mono for throwing frogs????
My dad swears by mono and we have a little private pond covered in lilly pads and my braid always cuts right through the vegetation no problem. His fish we have to troll into the weeds to pull out the fish and ruine a perfectly good stretch that probably had more then one fish. way to go pops!

for the most part around here you dont need to get crazy with the heavy line. There isnt the matt's and cover you are dragging through.

I would also consider the type of rod being used. If the rod is like a broom stick, perhaps heavier mono would be better suited. If the rod has a little give on top, then braid is probably best. This is simply theory.
Good luck Saturday at DVL John.

After Throwing more frogs on more bodies of water throughout the state I must say braid is by far the best choice, There are situations where 15 Vicious Clear comes in handy, here though the Firelines and 20 lb braids also work well in High Country Lakes and 1/4 oz frogs.
