San Antonio Reservoir...

Does anyone know if they will ever open this lake? It is located by Del Valle, in Alameda county, supposedly there are big trout and big largies in there. My hotmaps even has it on there. I think that it would be a great lake for swimbaits.

Ive been working in the hills overlooking the lake lately, and you are right, I bet it is a sleeper swimbait lake. Not sure of the quality/trophy potential, but its got stripers in it. Bet it would be fun.

Let us know what happens when you figure out how to access it.

There is a LAKE San Antonio down by Los Angeles, and the one I am talking about is about 850 acres and a drinking water lake. Every time I pass it I want to go there.

If you have Google Earth, you can search San Antonio Reservoir, Ca and it will find it for you. It is right by Highway 84 I think

No, that was Lake San Antonio. The next door neighbor of Nacimiento.

LOL! Ok, I got it now. Why does it not surprise me that two big lakes have the same name in this state?

Quantum Kid, good luck getting into San Antonio Reservoir (or lake, or pond, or whatever it is). Take the other guys advice and jump the fence. From my vantage point atop the hill, there are a bunch of awesome looking points.

Well, now that I have started fishing swimbaits, and I have seen a 12 pound fish caught on one, of course I want more

I was thinking more along the lines of trout swimbaits like the Huddy.

Also, Fish and Game may not need to plant there, as no one is taking the trout that are in there. Who knows, the trout may reproduce on their own, and the giants have a field day on them. Just like popcorn chicken, only trout

I doesn't even matter if there are trout in there or not. There are plenty of trout swimbait fish caught in lakes that don't have many or any trout at all.
