Anglers Raise $7,500 at Charity Tournament

Post by Ron C »

ANGLERS RAISE $7,500 AT CHARITY TOURNAMENT THAT WASN’T SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN

CASTAIC – Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of Southern California bass anglers and Anglers Marine in Anaheim, the May 7th Bassing for Abused Kids Charity Team Bass Tournament helped raise $7,500 for Royal Family Kids Camps, the nation’s leading network of camps for abused, neglected, and abandoned children. The contest was held at Castaic Lake and saw a field of 37 teams.

Ron give yourself a huge pat on the back you did an outstanding job in a short amount of time! Im very glad I could help with support of Kistler rods and staff. Thanks to them for stepping up and helping me help these children. it was great feeling seeing all these anglers giving all they could to a needy cause and Anglers marine for matching it, Thanks. I'm looking forward to next year, knowing it will be even better.

Sorry I could not be there. My son and I were really excited about fishing it this year but circumstances would not allow it. Paris asked me can we fish it next year? He is already making plans.

to be a part of this event. Thanks to Ron for allowing us to be part of this event. It was great to see a lot of my friends out there, and especially great to see Tony Stoltz come down for the event. I have to defer to my fellow club members for cooking the burgers though! It was great meeting Dave Flynn, and was especially great to see 37 teams show up for this extremely worthy event. I really hope this event keeps going for many years to come. And great job to Derrick P. and DL on their high finish! DL better continue that success at the next AC event!

It was great to be a part of such a good cause. This was my first trip to the BFAK, last year I could not make it so it was a priority on my list this time around. I am glad I set time aside to attend. There were many great prizes and the amount of money raised was even better. Thanks to Ron C, John Barron, Castaic Bass Club, Rick and Cindy Grover, and the many other contributors to this event. I have only been a part of the bass fishing community for a few years and never have I met a better group of men and women. The entire day was made when we all learned how much this means to the Royal Family charity and Mr Flynn. I will definitely be a part of the event next year and in the years to come. And a big thumbs up to sTony for making the drive from NorCal, it was good to see you representing for the guys from the north!

BFAK

Ron, thanks for taking the time to be the director for this event. It was a pleasure working with you and an honor being able to help out. Dave, thanks for doing what you do. It surely puts a lot of things back into perspective. Not only did BFAK raise some money for the kids but I got to spend the day with my wife fishing. Most of us get so buy in our "day to day trying to make it" lives that we forget or at least I know I forget how important it is to just stop and enjoy the time with your family and friends. Marla and I used to fish a lot together and the last few years we have both been so busy we haven't had the time. Saturday was a special day for us, we went fishing. It was a great day and our pleasure to help with the event.
Thanks to everybody that came out to fish. It was good to see all of you and I hope that more of you will be at the next one. Marla and I will be at the next one in July. Diamnond Valley is the next stop for the BFAK. I hope you will come out and join us.
