CHAMPION Boat Owners Tourny

Post by Tony Lain »

Saw a question earlier, thought I'd pass on info. Dates are Sep 28th and 29th; Sunset Station in Henderson is the Headquarters.

Championboats.com has full info and entry forms. If you own a Champion Boat and you don't attend this event, you'll want to kick yourself after you hear about it. Fun tourney, great raffle prizes, and you can win a new boat just for showing up. I heard grand prize raffle this year is for a new Champion 188 with a 200 Merc...

ABA team championship is the following week at Mead, so Champ Tourney will work as a pre-fish for a lot of folks. I'm fishing both events. Roll Call? Who else?

Remember, your fishing ability has nothing to do with winning a boat at the Champion Owners events. Its all about the game at the end, so come on down! Rick G.

Maybe a couple dumb questions, but it wasn't clear on the Champ web site -- Is this a 2 day tournament? and is there an off limits the week before?

Thanks, Jim

1 day event on Sat. Team format. Gotta be there on Friday night to check-in and get your takeoff #. No cutoff so practice all you like. Rick G.

Can I enter today before I sell my boat tomorrow? :D They did have this thing scheduled on top of ABA Classic at first. Right? I didnt think about it because of the conflict. I dont know how they would have pulled that off but I thought that was the case.

I'm still on the fence. Everyday I see the entry form by my office computer -- taunting me.

Who can fish this thing? I know Knudson fished it a couple years ago. Can a Champion Owner bring a guest? There will be quite a few folks at the lake that weekend for the ABA pre-fish. Just Curious!

Open to all Champion Boat owners and any person they invite as a co-angler. Owner is elgible for grand prize raffle of a new Champion 188 with a 200 Merc. A lot of guys treat this deal as a family trip and fish with the wife, a buddy, or their kid. Some guys bring in the "Ringers" and go for the win. I've been to five of these so far, and they are great! Sweet door prizes and great meal... Plus, it's Vegas baby!

I hope the weather is decent. It seems like in the past, the winds would usually show up for this one.

My first year with a Champ so I think my buddy and I will head up. Only problem is we have never fished Mead and will only have one day to pre-fish so hope dumb luck works again. Do we just call the hotel direct and register or go through Champion? Thanks.

Register with Champion. Fish should be on anywhere in that lake.
