Post by Castaic Dave »

Anyone seen this on the BASS website? Have you paid the $60 to join  ? Is it worth it and what do you get?

Bass Outsider for now!!!!

In answer to your questions: Yes, no and it seems that your initial membership is only for the Bassmaster subscription, or have they taken that away as well? What happened to the "short-lived" friendly membership approach?

I'll just ride my membership out, since they have to pay for the new 2006 Bassmaster "200 boat tournaments" on the backs of the increased "INSIDER" fees! :?

Anyway, hang on, BASS isn't finished just yet!

As with most things in this world folks should likely decide for themselves if it's worth the cost of membership. There are some new web pages for those members and some additional freebies and discounts. Go check it out at this address:

I for one don't see where its really all that much more then another marketing tool to extract a few more dollars out of you but others who extensively use the site and all it's perks might love it.

Westernbass provides more value

than that site. Tony's site has nearly all the save elements as the improved bass insider site. Videos, articles, audio feeds, message board, etc. ..

I just hope Tony doesnt start charging us $60 to use his site.

I found one item that could be of value to others :
Win any CITGO Bassmaster® Open event or ESPN Outdoors Bassmaster Series event while displaying the special BASS Insider Decal and we'll cover your next year's entry fees. You'll receive two decals, one for your truck and one for your boat.

Never fear my friend...

westernbass.com and .tv will always be free to it's users. As long as we're still overseeing the site that'll never change.

I spoke to the membership people still in Montgomery, Alabama about the additional cost of the BASS Insider option and they said that they are still trying to figure out what to charge the current members and that the $69.00 is for new members. She mentioned that it wouldn't be more than let's say 30 dollars. Incidentally, there scheduled to move to Celebration, Florida with the rest of BASS in about 2-3 weeks. :?
