A heads up for anyone sending reels to Shimano!

Post by StogieMan »

I have 4 Chronarchs in need of repair, all 4 need a part of one kind or another so I decided to send them directly to Shimano down in So. Cal. This was on 4/19 they confirm having received them on 4/25 even though the UPS tracking said they were there much earlier. Anyway I was getting concerned and called for an update..I was told this is their "busy season" and it will be at least 2 more weeks before I see my reels! Thought I would pass along this information.

Yep, heasked about insurance and when he found out how much they were worth, I guess he kept one! Anyone, I knew someone at Shimano and he took care of the situation for me. Be careful who you use!

Shimano Service is Way Behind right now!

I live next to Shimano and I am pretty spoiled by walking into the service department and having them take care of stuff during my lunch break. I went last month and they said 4 weeks!

With that said I would recommend Connie Kilpatrick "The Reel Lady" at Lake Fork Tackle Repair. Their service is great and they do outstanding work!

I guess the lesson here:

would have been to call first and ask about the turn around time, still it seems 6 weeks (and that's just their best guess!) is a looong time to wait!

I HAVE USED CONNIE KILPATRICK AND THEY ARE IN AND OUT IN A FEW DAYS. ONE OF MY REELS NEEDED A GEAR AND IT WAS IN A BAG WITH JUST PIECES AND THAT DIDN'T SLOW IT DOWN AT ALL.

Connie Kilpatrick of Lake Fork does stand-up work in fast turn-around time.
I'd highly recommend anyone to her shop...

They work on Shimano baitcasters ONLY....

Shimano reel repair

Post by Gene Buchholz »

JD at the Hook Line & Sinker repairs shimano and Abu Garcia and has a 2 to 3 day turn around. He stocks most of the parts.
Just drop off your reels at The Hook he picks them up there and drops them back at The Hook. If you have any questions you can call us at 925-625-2441. Thanks Gene
