Clear Lake bite?

Post by Scott D. »

So, I'm getting a chance to come up to Clear Lake this weekend. How's the bite? Is the crank bite off the hook yet? I know this time last year I made a trip, and the crank bite was killer!! Looking to break in a Dobyns frog rod too, will that be possible? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. PM or email me if you would rather.

Hey Scott, I had an awsome swimbait bite going for a couple weeks, getting 4's, 5's, a couple 7's and a 9.5. Then that bite vanished. Best bet is to graph some deeper fish. Crank might work on rock piles. Full moon bite was off last night. Drop shot always works. What day are you going up? Mike

Hey Mike, I'll be on the water all day Sat & Sun, and until about 10:00 on Mon. You know the boat, stop and say hi. Saturday late morning, after I've fished for a little bit, I'm going to pick up my Godson at the dock and take him out for a couple of hours. He loves to fish, gets it from his Dad(Sieg)

I wish I could help you. Fished AC tourney and had 13.08. I have heard from a couple of people one guide that there is a decent rip bait bite in the south end.
