That is NOT good news :!: :!: :!: ............ A few years ago Brunswick purchased HarleyDavidson. One of the first thing's they did was start cutting corners to save money......... taking away craftsmanship & the Quality.
Eventually, the employees bought the company back & they joined the machinest union.

When the designer / inventor or Champion Boats Patent expired he Got some investors & started the Cobra line. Immediatly they wanted to cut corners to save time & money. He sold out to them, because he said he wouldnt be involved is makink & selling inferior products.
& i believe it was also him who started the Hawk Line of boats.

AMF was the company that bought into Harley in the 70's. The employees bought it back in 82, I think. They came out with the Evolution engine which was light years ahead of the old shovelhead. The Evo engine, and classic styling are what is usually credited with saving HD along with employee ownership. Harley now is a publicly traded company on the NYSE. The twin cam 88 engine has replaced the evo engine and they say that it is as much better than an Evo as the Evo was over a shovelhead. Harley also has produced a water cooled v-rod engine in a joint effort with Porche. The v-rod did real well in the NHRA drags last year.

LONG LIVE HARLEY DAVIDSON
