REAL swimbaits. Not storm or R2S or luckycraft. Bass pro should carry the swimbaits that swimbait fisherman actualy use.
Huddleston, Mattlures, 3:16, 22nd century. etc

And speaking of Luckycraft... its really hard to tell the difference in the LC and the XPS 6.99 BPS ones.

I was at the RC BPS on Saturday for the first time. Nice store, however blantantly obvious it is new and so are many of the employees.

I was up there to help out with the kid's fishing, and brought along quite a list of things to pick up.

Was only able to get less than half the stuff I wanted and the staff tried hard, but wasn't sure where anything was. The rod selection was spread all over without any rhyme or reason that I could figure out, there was only three colors of Fat Ikas and only one was a workable color. Had difficulty finding terminal tackle items that should be common place in CA such as Gamakatsu weedless finesse hooks, and Re-barb in the fine wire size 1 or 2, not just medium wire 2/0. Was only able to find 1/4 ounce dropshot wts, and no Screamin' Eagle compact spinnerbaits. Was looking for a Minnkota 101 with list assist and was not able to get it without ordering it. Well, if I have to order items I might as well sit at home and go through the online catalog with a cold beer and not fight traffic for two hours.

Because of the efforts of the staff, it was a nice experience overall however, I would not make that pilgrimage again without more motivation such as the Kid's fishing event. The staff were very nice and hospitable from Bob the General Manager to Gorge with Promotions to the floor staff such as Mike and the others in the freshwater department, that ran all over trying to find things for waiting customers. In time the staff will work out the bugs, but the organization of freshwater baits and items ib stock needs a lot of work.

At the risk of putting my foot in my mouth (again), if you want to see what works in California talk real nice to Rick G. Maybe he might be willing to share some information, despite the potential for competing markets. I use to make the quarterly trek to Angler's in Anahiem to see what was new and get some of the more hard to find items. It was worth the travel time. The store layout is one of the best I have seen and the selection is top notch. I was not a regular since I only went four times a year, however every time I went the staff was very knowledgable, courteous and extremely helpful. Still will make the run for the Bass-A-thon, but now that they are in Lakeside, I am able to go on a weekly basis, and Greg and Art take great care of me as well as all their customers. You don't ever feel like just another face.
