I was wondering if any of you noticed what spoon kelly was using to catch 20 pounds in 9 minutes...Looked like some sort of salt water spoon

They are just using a large salmon spoon. It is big down here at Lake Fork. I don't think you can buy the Mark Pack, Lake Fork tackle, spoon he was using online. You can get other similar salmon spoons though from Cabelas.

Spoons dont work. Dont use them. Ever. No seriously I've caught a lot of fish on spoons when all else failed. Use them just like jigging for Salmon.

I know everyone keeps saying duh no longer. But I know a boat and tackle shop that has a bunch of them on the wall. I dont know what the old Duh spoons looked like, but these ones look like a rattle trap with a fancy paint job. I better go buy the wall of them before they are gone.

koy = fancy carp

The koy are just easier to see when you bow fish. There are carp and koy all over these lakes and they hang out together, they seem to spawn together in Folsom. They all hang in the shallows together come spring. You cant bow fish on Folsom though. And the people in Disco bay would probably have a heart attack if I started sticken those suckers. I would probably miss and sink a float plane anyway. :lol:

Its a "jigging spoon" Terry. Some spoons are built to cast and retrieve, troll, or fish vertically refered to as jigging.

The spoons for horizontal presentations tend to wind up more when jigged, and jigging spoons don't seem to have as much action when trolled. No kidding, Hopkin's came out with one to cast even father than their standard model and its called "No Equal".

Do you think those two spoons are same, and just marketed under different names?
