Clear Lake, first time, North end

Post by borderbuck »

Hello all, I am spending a few days on Clear lake next week. I have never been there before and am staying up in the northeast end.

I am looking for a few pointers as to what to expect / bring. If possible I want to fish in that end of the lake as I have the family with me and don't want to be making long runs...any thoughts would be abbreciated. Also, where is the nearest tackle shop...I think we are in NICE California. thanks.

The fishing hasn't been great in the Nice area. I live there. I'm heading to the south end on my fishing tuesday. What luck I've been having is from dawn to 8 oclock, then the fish seem to have an alarm clock and shut off. I was fishing Aurora area and The Boathouse Bar and Restaurant area, but they are shallow and weeded up pretty good.

Thanks Greg...I followed the link on your post, called a few of the tackle stores and they confirmed what you said...looks like I will be running south.
